While the British continue to dismantle the Irish Peace Process systematically under the Tories, Britain is also involved in stoking conflict in Syria, after it helped destroy Libya last year, by taking part in an illegal NATO bombing campaign. David Cameron accompanied representatives of British weapons manufacturers to Saudi Arabia and the UAE to win further lucrative defence contracts for British firms.The British Tories were sponsored with millions of pounds in the last election by the Arms industry worldwide and there is simply no money in peace or without their showcase window of British Occupied Ireland in turmoil, on their daily BBC World service advertising their weaponry of genocide while Kitsonian terror gangs stir social strife for crowd control hardware to be put on display to the despots of the world..

Britain’s Green Party MP Caroline Lucas said, that Cameron should draw the line at “dirty money”. Lucas went further said, that Britain has a shameful track record of exporting arms and equipment to regimes in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Libya and said Britain can’t claim to be on the side of peace and democracy, while the British government continues to bolster authoritarian regimes with weapons’ sales, spending taxpayers’ money promoting further deals worldwide.

Spokespeople from the British government are telling the media tens of thousands of British jobs, depend on the defence industry and that huge arms deals are ‘good for the country’,  while defence companies are privately owned, with every worker employed in the UK by BAE System, subsidized to the tune of around 13,000 pounds. The arms sector’s contribution to the British economy is minimal, but the industry constitutes a very powerful and effective lobby, with links of a revolving door between government and subsequent jobs with self-serving arms manufacturers.

 A report from BASIC, the Oxford Research Group and Saferworld, on updated government figures, it was calculated, that the arms industry received about 852 million pounds a year in subsidies. Much of this money going to BAE, a company with a track record of bribery, espionage and arms deals with the most oppressive regimes in the world. Not much time then in such a culture for a Peace Process in British occupied ireland to survive. The Tories in Government are dismantling it piece by piece with broken promises, shredding documents of Her Majesty and the political internment without trial of human rights activists such as Marian Price and the secret internment by remand of scores political prisoners including those released under the terms of the Peace Process.


David Cameron does an aexceptionslly good job for the arms dealers of death while double jobbing as the British Prime Minister while also paid by taxpayers. In 2011, he was in Egypt mouthing platitudes about democracy and lecturing the world on human rights as the Mubarak regime fell. Britain's Human Rights track record during their Occupation in Ireland is far worse than Mubarak. Then he moved on with his arms dealers in tow to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, bastions of democracy and human rights, who were lavished with praise and gifts while invited by the Cameron government to attend a London arms fair. The same day that Cameron was in Libya celebrating another hollow victory for British imperialism, his arms dealing cronies in London were rewarded for his militaristic policies and salesmanship at the fair, titled Defence and Security Equipment International Exhibition.

Cameron was in Libya wallowing in the limelight on the political platform of ‘protecting’ Libyans from Gaddafi with the sheer hypocrisy of huge oil contracts and more arms to kill more Libyans. He is currently also directly arming Al Queda in Syria whom the American refuse truck. Tens of thousands died in Libya, countless others were maimed and much of the country’s physical and social infrastructure ruined as a result of British-French military rockets and bombs. There will be hundreds of thousands murdered in Syrian war crimes with British weaponry while the vast majority of Britons want nothing to do with the civil war stirred by the Imperialists.

More than a thousand arms manufacturers displayed their wares of death in London.with the Economist Intelligence Unit stating, 14 of those countries were authoritarian regimes. Five countries, according to the British government itself, were countries with “the most serious human rights concerns.” The British Government itself being the chief human rights abuser in the world under a cloak of hypocritical deceit which partly funded the event, under the cover of its arms promotions organisation, while lecturing about repression and human rights abuses elsewhere, while Cameron had no qualms about selling to fellow state terrorists in Algeria, Israel, Bahrain, Libya, Iraq, Saudi, Pakistan and the UAE.

While Cameron and British Foreign Secretary William Hague stand in front of TV cameras with speeches, lecturing about humanitarianism and the precious nature of human life, they sanction not alone these arms deals but the murder of human rights lawyers and journalists in British Occupied Ireland who would inform the world of Britain's war crimes in Ireland. Despite the economic downturn worldwide markets such as West Asia, Africa and India keep the pot boiling and re one of the few remaining British industries thriving. With politicians stuffed in back pocket and tensions being stoked in various locations across the globe, regional arms races keep the arms trade in profit.

Meanwhile in Britain, people are continually fed the lie that eye-catching arms deals to fellow terrorist regimes like the British, are good for “the country.” In a time of biting austerity, headline-hogging arms deals fuel conflict, to the detriment of many, for the benefit of the few. Meanwhile the British are continually feeding the lie of other eye-catching arms of civilian control, by British paramilitary police of loyalist rioting in Belfast to the world, along with a pseudo-revolutionary war with their fake terrorist narrative. British State terrorism is the key component to the ongoing conflict in British Occupied Ireland of secret political internment, in a  post peace process era..

Informed Dissent Eliminated by UK SS Mentored Reactionary Forces in Ireland

A progressive democracy depends on equality, dissent and information, all crucial to democratic participation and public engagement. A progressive democracy is both a generator and a function of a continuously evolving society, with certain minimum levels of economic and social well-being, as well as health and educational attainment, vital to enable us to participate in the democratic life of society within a socio-economic, physical or cultural context. 

Such participation involves far more than just casting a vote on certain specified dates. The effective exercise of social and political rights, requires equal access to all forums of debate, where power and influence are used. Equality depends very much on the ability to obtain information with the opportunity to voice dissent. With the exception of a few bloggers and online media outlets, just a small number of broadcasters and commentators are currently independent, even these few are now  currently under daily attack by SS UK counter progressive forces, with Max Clifford reactionary soundbites and intranet censorship in Ireland.

The absence of diversity in the Irish media, crucial to a healthy democracy, which in turn depends on competition between ideas and narratives, has been curtailed in the area of investigative journalism, pursuing the bottom line, leaving journalists over reliant on the publicity and propaganda output of public relations professionals and British spooks, managing and manipulating Irish public perceptions, opinion, and policy. Research has found that just twelve per cent of Irish stories are authentic, while more than fifty per cent in the Irish media are constructed from propaganda.

Mark Twain coined the statement: ‘There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics,’ he was however unfamiliar with with modern UK SS propaganda and control of politcians in places like Ireland. The shrinking space available to investigative journalism, along with an increased propensity to distort as per UK SS mentors, dictats and blackmail, has been compounded by a residual culture of secrecy within Irish government. The current processes render public bodies and public functions of Irish government impenetrable. Even Irish public officials with oversight responsibility find it difficult to obtain information.

The culture of Irish secrecy, taking refuge behind the legacy of British infrastructure, UK SS control and influence or pretexts of ‘commercial sensitivity in bodies like NAMA, are not subject to Freedom of Information. Thus accountability in an open manner, essential to meaningful scrutiny rather than notional is not happening. Ireland's culture of secrecy, coupled with active attempts to eliminate dissent, are  doing immeasurable harm to democracy, fostering cynicism, disillusion and ultimately violence. The Irish government is currently using its economic muscle to eliminate dissent. In some cases, the elimination of dissent may occur directly by issuing instructions to state agencies, to cease funding activities such as ‘advocacy’, by reducing budgets of agencies addressing inequalities. Dissent is indirectly eliminated in community groups, dependent on state funding, censoring themselves to avoid putting their funding at risk.

The impact of economic equality starts in early childhood, with the health and education investment choices of a now compromised, corrupted, Irish state in our name. Choices directly affecting our future economic well-being have been corrupted. The opportunity for citizens to engage in collective reflection and dissent on this, together with a collective capacity for self-renewal, are crucial to a fully formed democracy of equality. For such critical and collective reflection to occur, we need access to evidence and propositions, supporting an alternative vision of Irish society. Such arguments require common currency in public discourse, before the public endorsement of argument creates familiarity and informed choices.

Raymond Murray's record is a very long and consistent, humanitarian, trustworthy voice, to speak for the Irish people of no property, in the house of commoners in London, especially those voices that have already been silenced, in political internment and assassination by the British Government in Occupied Ireland.

McGuinness and Co., came to power on the back and shroud of Bobby Sand's blanket, that was initially BORROWED in Fermanagh/South Tyrone. Madam Chairperson and members of the Forum, Thank you for the privilege of addressing the Forum as Chairperson of Relatives For Justice and Chairperson of the Campaign for the Right to Truth. This Campaign is an umbrella group of eight organisations. There are six speakers on this panel and there are some 30 members present at the Forum. You will meet many of them informally and hear their stories. We are happy that you are willing to listen to poor, humble and vulnerable people who have suffered at the hands of the state in the past 25 years. You will have heard, and doubtlessly will hear more testimonies from victims and their relatives who have suffered grievously at the hands of the paramilitaries. We sympathise with these victims and encourage you to do all you can for them. Today we are focusing narrowly on a section of people, victims and their relatives who feel they have been neglected and ignored. The ghetto poor have to a great extent been a voiceless people—although they can be eloquent—voiceless because they are without power. Government officials, religious people and academics were not always willing to listen to them, and so their lack of human rights and civil rights and justice went unredressed. They found it difficult to get their story told. The people represented here, Madam Chairperson, have been the victims of the corruption of law. Such a problem is worldwide. We are focusing here on Northern Ireland and Britain but we have also a speaker here to challenge governments and politicians in the Republic of Ireland whose silence on the Dublin and Monaghan bombings is as deafening as the explosions themselves. The agents of the law in Northern Ireland and Britain, people in charge of the law, have violated the law to use it as a weapon to torture men in interrogation centres, to send some innocent people to jail for life, to kill and injure civilians with plastic bullets, to shoot citizens with army guns, to act in collusion over 25 years with the murderous intents of the loyalist paramilitaries. A second hurt, added to the injuries, is that the law has provided no adequate remedy for proper investigation, no truth or justice for the Relatives for Justice. Hence the appreciation of our groups to have a voice here today. The British Government does not hold the high moral ground. Like the paramilitaries it should also acknowledge and repent for its crimes, the deaths and suffering of innocent people it has caused. Truth helps a peace process and has healing effects. Justice and charity flow from it. Our submission to the Forum outlined 16 classifications of the violations of human rights. The headings are: Murder and unjust killings by the security forces. 148 members of paramilitary organisations and 138 innocent civilians have been killed by the RUC and the British Army; some of these can be classified as murder and some as unjust killings. Prosecution and conviction of members of the security forces has been avoided in most cases. Collusion of the British intelligence system, members of the UDR and RIR, members of the RUC, with loyalist paramilitaries leading to the murders of hundreds of Catholics. Widespread and deadly use of rubber and plastic bullets resulting in severe injuries and the deaths of 17 people, of whom 8 were children and one was a woman. Internment of 2000 Catholic men and 30 women under special powers and the cruel ill-treatment of same. Inhuman and degrading treatment of detainees in Hollywood and Girdwood Barracks, Belfast 1971-2. Torture of 14 hooded men by sensory deprivation in Ballykelly Barracks in 1971. Duress: Arrested people in the 1970s were forced to sign statements admitting crimes the police wanted to connect them with. Corrupt courts for many years accepted these statements. Harassment: For 20 years nationalists were subjected to arbitrary house searches, house-wrecking, beatings, verbal harassment, census taking by security forces. Ill-treatment of arrested persons in RUC stations 1972-75. Ill-treatment of arrested persons in the interrogation centres at Castlereagh and Gough Barracks 1976-77. Alleged verbal statements of accused given out by the police were accepted on their word in the Diplock Courts; beating, thumping and kicking prisoners and interrogating them for long periods and putting them in positions of stress, were not accepted as cruel and degrading treatment and statements taken after these forms of ill-treatment were accepted in court. There followed great disparity in sentences and some of the sentences were inhuman. After the Bennet Report in 1979 ill-treatment centred on beatings designed not to leave marks, on psychological torture and threats, blackmail and the use of supergrasses. Severe punishments were inflicted on prisoners who refused to do prison work and wear prison clothes in the 1976-81 period. Degrading stripping naked of the women prisoners in Armagh prison 1982-86. 18 innocent Irish people were imprisoned for long years by police action and judicial procedures in Britain which were contrary to human rights. Some Irish political prisoners in British prisons were treated with cruelty. The Prevention of Terrorism Act brought great suffering to many thousands of Irish in Britain. When those charged with upholding the law appear to violate it with impunity in this way, the foundations of respect for law and order disappear. The question is: will the new northern Ireland with a radically restructured police force, with strict regulations re appointment of judges, magistrates and coroners avoid political prejudice, guarantee the human and civil rights of all citizens, provide independent modes of investigation of police and legal abuse? And will citizens in positions of power show concern for justice regarding security, legal justice and social justice? We hope so. Mé Féin nó an Pobal: Social Processes and Connectivity in Irish Volunteering Marie Claire Van Hout, Waterford Institute of Technology Hilery Tarrant, Waterford Institute of Technology Michelle Foley, Waterford Institute of Technology Abstract Irelandhas a longstanding history of diverse volunteer action (Volunteering Ireland, 2010a). Ireland’s current economic recession has impacted on the community and voluntary sector, with frequent contraction in staff numbers and incomes, and increasing reliance on volunteer participation (Harvey, 2012). This study utilised social capital theory to garner a phenomenological understanding of the contribution of volunteering to perceived social capital amongst Irish volunteers and host organisation representatives. A convenience sample of 28 participants (17 volunteers and 11 organisation representatives) was interviewed. A shift in personal and social definitions of volunteering were described, with informal volunteering increasingly replaced by structured, formalized and regulated volunteer placements. Volunteers described their experiences as contributing to increased personal well being and sense of purpose, development of friendships and meeting new people. The volunteer participants identified volunteering activity as a specified community need, providing work related experiences, fulfillment in free time and opportunity for up-skilling. Integration of volunteers into the organisation’s workforce was described as dependent on duration, intensity of interaction and scope of volunteer contributions. Power differentials and a lack of trust between volunteers and staff, was described, as was a lack of volunteer recognition staff. Subsequently, some volunteers identified and aligned themselves within the wider social volunteer network rather than their host organisation. The research reflected an emergent consumerist approach to volunteering and underscores the need to preserve informal social networks of community volunteers, alongside the development of more formalized work specific routes for volunteering inIreland.
