MURPHY AN ILLEGITITMATE MP

I wrote an article a couple of days ago, demonstrating how Sinn Fein deceit, betrayed the democratic vote of their first party conference for Assembly elections back in 1982, to include unemployment, as one of their principal issues in their first assembly elections. While this may seem a small matter to many people, the seriousness of this, is that if they were prepared to betray their own volunteers, what chance, have the voters, who vote for their promises pre-election.

I had another experience of their betrayal, in the days before they drove me to drink, when the convention for Newry South Armagh was called, to select the candidate for election. It was chaired by Conor Murphy's mother Alice. I proposed Tom Lonergan as candidate, a person of absolute integrity, with a long history of service and commitment, a man of the common people. He was voted unanimously by the convention to be the candidate. However, a week later, Tom asked me to accompany him to Murphy's house, where he was to meet Pat and Alice Murphy. When Tom came out of the house, he was no longer the candidate. Alice Murphy, later explained to me, the "House of Lords" overruled such matters. I will tell you Francie Molloy and Tom Hartley, were pulling the strings from without, undemocratically.

On several occasions later, I was taken to Gough barracks and interrogated by MI5 consistently, about several members of the Murphy family, including Conor for days on end. They got no information from me on this family. Now Conor Murphy and Sinn Fein are calling on all of the Irish people, to inform the British paramilitary police about their neighbors.
Now again some people may regard this as a small matter. However anyone reporting to the PSNI on  a neighbor, should realize, this has very serious consequence, for that family. That data winds up on MI5 secret police files in London and will affect, all members of that family, well into the future, regardless of whether they are innocent or guilty. The two young innocent men at the top of this blog are just one example of many, of it's consequence.

Further, with the withdrawal of Britain from the European Court of Human Rights, those who have been informed on, are liable for torture, because MI5, now have Carte Blanche, to treat suspects any way they please. The suspects are also liable for many years of political internment by remand, along with the considerable possibility, of the rest of their lives, incarcerated, as their fate lies in the hands of just a single judge and prosecutor either of which are likely to be bigoted, in the sectarian state of Occupied Ireland. All as consequence of informers, mentored by Sinn Fein. Many of whom, already endure considerable hardship, protecting people like the Murphys. It is not surprising then, is it not, that many people are quite angry about all of this.

People like Tom Lonergan, Red Sarah and the fallen comrades of British violence in Newry & South Armagh, devoted their whole lives, to building people power, that elected Murphy. Some of the people he now castigates, while encouraging constituents to inform on, devoted their resources to the Cause. Their sacrifices were made on the basis of Eire Nua being achieved.

Once Sinn Fein got their platform as a result of the 10 martyred hunger strikers and  grabbed power, they bargained on a resurrected Stormont, with a Unionist Veto, they set about dismantling Eire Nua and any hope of Sinn Fein's deceitful promises becoming reality. I have no doubt they will do the same in the south, just like the Blueshirts. Conor Murphy is ensuring the Queen's writ extends across Newry & South Armagh, even if it means torture and decades of prison, for the very people, who enabled him, to betray them. Again, this is exactly what the Blueshirts have been doing for almost a hundred years in the south. Conor Murphy and Sinn Fein allies with Irish Left? you must be joking, they prefer the long tails and top hats of Buckingham Palace.

Some will say, but what about all the smuggling. As my English friend often states, the British Empire was built on piracy of which smuggling is a key element. Essentially Connor Murphy has taken the Queen's shilling, to enable this in South Armagh, at the expense of his own. If there is one fault, that I found with Tom Lonergan and Irish Republicans, I have known like him, from Newry & South Armagh, it is the considerable humility, with which the served the Cause of Ireland, to the point they allowed the power craven, to exploit them, along with the rest of the Irish people. This systematic betrayal of the Irish people today, allows the international Corporations or modern sanitized pirates to exploit the Irish people to the point of intolerable poverty. We better learn the lessons and learn how to stand  up for ourselves in solidarity with each other, put principles before personalities, empower ourselves and not give it away, to self-serving power brokers and politicians.

Man injured in explosion near Crossmaglen, South Armagh

Conor Murphy said the man was injured when a device exploded close to his family home

25 FEBRUARY 2015
A man has been injured in an explosion near Crossmaglen, South Armagh.

The PSNI said they received a report of an explosion in the Crossmaglen area on Wednesday.

Sinn Fein MP Conor Murphy said the man was injured when a device exploded close to his family home as he went to remove a poster.

The Newry and Armagh MP said the incident was an attack on the peace process.

He said: "Over recent months criminal gangs masquerading as republicans have threatened the family of the young man injured.

"Police recently visited the family and told them there was a threat from this group.

"Now these people have attempted to kill a member of the family with a device placed close to their home. In recent months death threats have also been made against a number of Sinn Fein activists, including myself.

"Let me be absolutely clear; this was the work of a gang of criminals and I unreservedly condemn this latest cowardly action. These thugs are opposed to the peace process and opposed to policing because of their involvement in organised crime.

"My party colleagues Megan Fearon, Gerry Kelly and I recently met with the Assistant Chief Constable to discuss the ongoing threats to the local community and I have demanded the PSNI take action against them.

"The threats have now escalated to what is clearly an attempt to murder people in the community opposed to their criminal activities.

"It’s well past time for the PSNI to act before someone is killed."

Newry and Armagh DUP MLA William Irwin expressed concern about the explosion.

Mr Irwin said: "It would seem that this incident was caused by dissident republicans and it is concerning that they are capable of producing such devices to threaten life.

"It is clear there are tensions within republicanism in this area and it is vital that the community cooperate with the police to bring those behind such threats and attacks to justice."

A PSNI spokesman said: "Police in Newry and Mourne received a report of an explosion occurring in the Crossmaglen area on Wednesday morning, 25 February.

"The report was received at 2.26pm on Wednesday, 25 February. It was also reported that a man had sustained injuries and was taken to hospital.

"Inquiries are ongoing and there are no further details at this stage."

END OF EMPIRE Moneyweek

My own personal rock bottom was in high rise, Ballymun, Dublin, in a totally unfurnished flat. I was totally isolated from the reality around me and desperate. I was constantly alternating in my sleep, with dreams of my absent children and nightmares of nihilism and the abyss. I was sleeping on the bare frame of a steel bed, without a mattress, covered by wallpaper, torn from the walls, to keep myself warm in an Irish winter. I had walked among the high rise flats, an Irish country boy, totally isolated and alone, with the lights of each apartment, like beacons from alien worlds, from which I was absolutely isolated. The aeroplanes were coming in low into Dublin Airport, like spacecraft from other planets, as I had never been on one in my life of 35 years. The Provos were no longer part of the solution, neither was family or community. The alcohol was no longer doing the trick of escape. I was in no man's land, a very vulnerable, lonely place to be, as anyone who has been there, can testify. Well, desperate people, do desperate things, and I made the decision to do a hold-up the following day, either way, it couldn't get worse, company in gaol or a good piss-up. Now I wouldn't recommend jail to my worst enemy, freedom is everything to me but I met some of the nicest people, I have ever known, in there. Anyway, this rock bottom was to lead me eventually, to a community of people, just like myself, where the brutal truth about our way of life, our selfishness, self-centredness and self-will, had led us. It was reflected by people around me, who were mirrors of myself, sharing their own experience, from which I could not avoid identifying myself. With the help of the stardust, both without and within, I found personal freedom and learned how to fly, which is conditional on sharing it. Somehow, I feel Ireland is on the threshold of freedom too, if we remember the lessons of our experience and our history, some of which is in the second article below. As a country boy, my first lesson as a child, was that people need land, to be self-supporting, and whether we like it or not, we are interdependent on a community around us, where we can barter a pinch of salt, or a cup of sugar, or tea, or whatever, not forgetting the goats, of course.

February 07, 2015 "ICH" - I have to say that I personally don't recall anything quite like what happened today in Munich. For one thing, I detected a tone in Lavrov's words which I had not felt so strongly before. Of course, Lavrov was calm, composed and polite. But this time I also felt an immense sense of disgust on his part for the audience he was addressing and for what these so-called 'leaders' had done over the past decade. In essence Lavrov told them "Putin already explained everything to you in 2007 but you have not listened to a word he had to say - and now are you really happy with the result?". Then came the Q&A and things only got worse.

Frankly, I am wondering whether what happened today was some kind of setup to try to provoke Lavrov or whether the folks who asked questions are just simply terminally stupid. Listening to them, I though that was was witnessing an "intellectual Conchita Wurst" moment: terminally pretentious and degenerate Europeans who are completely devoid of any sense of reality, truth or even basic decency. Even the very thin veneer of European manners melted away when the German reporter began laughing at Lavrov's mention of the UN Charter. I can only marvel at Lavrov's mental control and thank God that he did not make me a diplomat as I felt like punching my computer screen listening to these clowns.

If you look at the Saint George Ribbon on the left side of the page you will see that above I wrote "Russia stands for freedom". I am beginning to realize that this is a rather superficial formulation. On a much deeper level, Russia stands for truth both as a logical category and a moral principle. The western 'elites' stand for the exact opposite of that, they are the embodiment of un-truth in the logical and moral sense. And that chasm was evident in today's face à face between Lavrov has his "western colleagues".

Dishonesty, intellectual and moral, has been elevated to an ontological principle and foundation of the modern western political thought and culture, it is what these societies do best and all they can do. Not only are "right and wrong" gone in a moral sense, they are now also gone in a logical sense. Something both deeply immoral and completely absurd can now be elevated to an axiomatic status and then be used as "the measure of all things".

Yet again and again, I come to the conclusion that what we are seeing here is truly a deep civilizational clash between two civilizational realm who have grown so far apart as to make them virtual extraterrestrial aliens to each other. Lavrov would have had a much better experience speaking to some little green men on another Galaxy, these the people he addressed today in Munich.

I am going to say something which will trigger the usual spike in hate mail and outraged comments, but what I see today is struggle very similar to the one which opposed the Pharisees and Christ 2000 years ago. You could also refer to it as a struggle between "Conchita Wurst vs Saint George". Or "Hizb Shaitan vs Hizb Allah". These are all metaphors for the same reality. And since what is at stake today is really the future of the entire international order you can say that we are living one of the most dangerous and crucial moment in history.

I don't see how this conflict could be resolved by negotiations. On a short-term, tactical level, yes, sure. But fundamentally this is an existential struggle for both sides and only one will be left standing. We might well have reached the kind of historical nexus which will determine the future (or lack thereof) of the entire human race. This is the conclusion I have personally come to.

Now feel free to ridicule me for being over the top - I call it as I see it.

Cheers and kind regards,

The Saker

Ireland:When the bishop's blessed the blueshirts

Irish Conservatism too has its Fascist skeletons in the cupboard, even more so than the Conservative Party. Ireland also has it's own peculiar version of Holocaust denial where it is claimed that the Blueshirt movement was not Fascist usually on the basis of criteria so strict one could conclude that no Fascist ever existed anywhere. The Blueshirts were a continuation of Civil War politics but they were also part of European Fascism, the Irish strain of a European disease. The development of the Blueshirt movement came as Cumann Na nGaedheal, victors in the '22 to '23 Civil War handed power over to the vanquished Fianna Fail in 1932. They emerged out of the Army Comrades Association, a Blueshirted veterans group which claimed in 1931 a membership of 100,000. In 1933 the recently fired ex-police commissioner Eoin O'Duffy became leader of the A.C.A. (now named the National Guard) and began to move it in a Fascist direction. O'Duffy had been a close college of Michael Collins during the War of Independence and Civil War and had become notorious among Unionists for making a speech in South Armagh in which he promised to "Give 'em the lead", and he was also hated by Republicans for carrying out several atrocities against them during the Civil War as well as much repression against them afterward. One of the mainsprings of the Blueshirt movement was an anti-Communist paranoia, they believed that DeValera, the Fianna Fail leader was Ireland's answer to Kerensky and that waiting in the shadows for him to fall was a Bolshevised I.R.A. . This line of thinking was justified to a degree, Fianna Fail were spewing a sort of pseudo-radical populism at the time and they were being supported by an increasingly left-wing I.R.A.. In 1931 a new political wing of the Republican Movement was established entitled Saor Eire, as an example of the leftward drift within Republicanism here follows excerpts of it's draft constitution:

"To abolish, without compensation, landlordism in lands, fisheries and minerals"
"To make the national wealth and credit available for the creation and fullest development of essential industries and mineral resources, through Industrial Workers Co-operatives, under State direction and management, workers to regulate internal working conditions" (1)
As Blueshirt James Hogan put it:
"It was the growing menace of the Communist I.R.A. that called forth the Blueshirts as Communist Anarchy called forth the Blackshirts in Italy" (2)
However mostly when they thought of the Red Menace they were simply believing their own exaggerated propaganda. Now who was responsible for this Red tide? Why the international Jewish/Communist/Banking conspiracy of course. As a writer in the Blueshirt journal put it: "The founders of Communism were practically all Jews. This can scarcely be a mere coincidence. It may appear singular that Marx, Engels, Lasalle and Ricardo were all Jews" (3)
The Blueshirts saw themselves as part of the European Fascist movement, as a leading Cumann na nGaedheal member John A. Costello, who was later leader of Fine Gael and Prime Minister of the Irish Republic said in the Dail:
"The Blackshirts have been victorious in Italy and Hitler's Brownshirts have been victorious in Germany, as assuredly the Blueshirts will be victorious in Ireland." (4)
This was not so and much of the credit must go to the people who fought them tooth and nail. O'Duffy planed a Mussolini style March on Rome for Dublin in August 1933 ostensibly to commemorate Michael Collins, Arthur Griffith and Kevin O'Higgins. The Government banned the march and units of the I.R.A. lay in wait to ambush it as it passed over O'Connell bridge. O'Duffy backed down and cancelled the march. The Blueshirt movement was now marginalised, O'Duffy had failed to live up to his hard man rhetoric. Later that year the Blueshirts merged with Cumann Na nGaedheal, the Farmers Party and the National Centre Party to form Fine Gael with O'Duffy as it's leader. O'Duffy was ousted from the leadership after making a speech in which he proposed to invade Northern Ireland.

The Spanish Civil War

O'Duffy re-emerged onto the national stage in 1936 to form a seven hundred strong Irish Brigade to fight for Franco in Spain's Civil War, this effort was vigorously supported by the Catholic Church. The Dean of Cashel endorsed it stating that:
"The Irish Brigade have gone to fight the battle of Christianity against Communism. There are tremendous difficulties facing the men under O'Duffy and only heroes can fight such a battle" (5)
The aforementioned Saor Eire had by contrast been condemned by the Bishops as:
"a sinful and irreligious organisation" (6)
They pressurised the Government into outlawing it.
Cardinal Macrory Archbishop of Armagh and primate of all-Ireland, while addressing seven thousand pilgrims in Drogheda at the shrine of blessed Oliver Plunket - a preserved, severed head with reputed magical powers, nailed his colours to the mast and expressed his support for Franco:
"There is no room any longer for any doubt as to the issues at stake in the Spanish conflict. It is not a question of the Army against the people, nor the Army plus the aristocracy and the Church against Labour. Not at all. It is a question of whether Spain will remain as she has been for so long, a Christian and Catholic land or a Bolshevist and anti-God one" (7)
Newspapers and in particular the Irish Independent took a pro-Franco line:
"It is well that the line of demarcation in Spain should be made clear. On the one side is a so-called Government which has abandoned all the functions of government to a Communist Junta bent upon the destruction of personal liberty, the eradication of religion, the burning of churches, and the wholesale slaughter of clergy. On the other side are the Patriot Army gladly risking liberty, property, and life, in defense of their faith-Fighting the same fight that our Irish ancestors fought for centuries for the same cause" (8)
Unsurprisingly the multitude of widely read Church based publications were even more vociferous in their praise for Fascism.
The main body organising support for Franco was the Irish Christian Front ( I.C.F.) a broad based pressure group which , in the early months of the civil war , organised massive demonstrations and had , initially at least , more widespread support than the Blueshirts . The Front's founders were Patrick Belton , who was formerly a T.D. for both Fianna Fail and Fine Gael as well as being an ex-Blueshirt , and Alexander McCabe , formerly elected for both Sinn Fein (pre-1922) and Cumann Na nGaedheal and later to be a member of Eoin O'Duffy's pro-nazi People's National Party. At one I.C.F. rally in Cork in September 1936 40,000 people assembled to hear Monsignor Patrick Sexton , dean of Cork , blame the civil war on "a gang of murderous Jews in Moscow" (9) while beside him stood Alfred O'Rahilly , the future president of the University College of Cork and Douglas Hyde , the future president of the Irish state who currently has his head on the £50 note.

Oliver J. Flanagan and Fine Gael

In 1943 elected as an independent to the Dail for the Laois-Offaly area was one Oliver J. Flanagan . In one of his earliest parliamentary speeches he said:
"There is one thing that Germany did and that was to rout the Jews out of their country. Until we rout the Jews out of this country it does not matter a hair's breadth what orders you make. Where the bees are there is honey, and where the Jews are there is money." (10) He was soon to join Fine Gael and remained a T.D. for them until 1987 briefly becoming Minister for Defence in the late 1970's .

Fianna Fail and Alleanza Nazionale

Fianna Fail's members of the European Parliament are part of the same group, the Union for Europe of the Nations, as the neo-Fascist , post-Fascist, or just plain-Fascist Italian party the Alleanza Nazionale (National Alliance).Gianfranco Fini , leader of the National Alliance , describes Mussolini as his "political master" and as "the greatest Italian politician".

SELLING THE IRISH WATER & SAND TO THE ARABS

The political parties, whose meetings the Fascist Blueshirts protected, merged to become Fine Gael and members of that party are called "Blueshirts" to this very day. Because the authoritarian group's leader Eoin O'Duffy, was also Dictaor of the Irish police, while also closely connected to fascist corporate sponsored movements on the European Continent, the Blueshirts are politically categorized with the MVSN Blackshirts of Italy, along with the Nazis in Germany, who to this day perform similar functions for corporations in slightly more sanitized but equally ruthless manner. The Blueshirts went to fight for the Fascist, Francisco Franco, during the Spanish Civil War after their very bloody Civil War in Ireland, against the people of no property, which continues politically today, in the Irish struggle for the right2water, preventing Ireland's over supply of free water, being owned by a corporation. It rains so much in Ireland, that this farcical enterprise, could only be compared, to the preposterous concept, of an American Corporation, with the collusion of ISIS, selling sand to their own Arabs and denying their own, free sand. This of course is only possible, when the Irish Government and its police force, work for the interests of Corporations, not it's own people, which is fascism.
Over three-quarters won't pay despite revised water charge proposals

Story by Paul Hughes

Over 79 percent of people in Westmeath are still opposed to the introduction of water charges - despite moves by the Government last week to cap charges until 2019.

A WestmeathExaminer.ie poll of some 211 people has shown that 79.1 percent will not pay the water charges, and feel that they pay enough taxes already.

Meanwhile, the sample showed that some 20.9 percent feel that the revised charges are fair, and will pay.

The cap on charges, announced by the Government last week, will see bills from Irish Water of €160 for a one-adult household and €260 for all other households, reduced to €60 and €160 respectively after a €100 payment promised by the Government.

However, protests against the Government have intensified this week ahead of an anticipated monster demonstration outside the Dáil on December 10.

On Monday night, Westmeath County Council became the latest local authority to vote for the abolition of Irish Water.

A motion by Fianna Fáil's Cllr Ken Glynn received cross-party support, although protesters present were alarmed at news that Irish Water has contacted the council seeking information about its tenants.

It's about this governments ineptitude, lies, fraud, cronyism, lies, deafness, lies and their inability to actually listen to the people they're supposed to represent! Oh and water charges. Dec 10th all roads lead to the dáil!

Combination of still water ( unconvinced by the supposed protection against privatisation ) and general feeling of betrayal with the government. Not an inch.

It's a combination of both... public revolt against austerity coupled with the pure incompetence on the part of Irish Water for actually running an efficient "company". I wont be paying anyway, that's for sure.

 POPE CRITICIZES EUROPE
Ladies and Gentlemen, Members of the European Parliament, within this dynamic of unity and particularity, yours is the responsibility of keeping democracy alive for the peoples of Europe.  It is no secret that a conception of unity seen as uniformity strikes at the vitality of the democratic system, weakening the rich, fruitful and constructive interplay of organizations and political parties.  This leads to the risk of living in a world of ideas, of mere words, of images, of sophistry… and to end up confusing the reality of democracy with a new political nominalism.  Keeping democracy alive in Europe requires avoiding the many globalizing tendencies to dilute reality: namely, angelic forms of purity, dictatorships of relativism, brands of a historical fundamentalism, ethical systems lacking kindness, and intellectual discourse bereft of wisdom.
Keeping democracies alive is a challenge in the present historic moment.  The true strength of our democracies – understood as expressions of the political will of the people – must not be allowed to collapse under the pressure of multinational interests which are not universal, which weaken them and turn them into uniform systems of economic power at the service of unseen empires.  This is one of the challenges which history sets before you today.
To give Europe hope means more than simply acknowledging the centrality of the human person; it also implies nurturing the gifts of each man and woman.  It means investing in individuals and in those settings in which their talents are shaped and flourish.  The first area surely is that of education, beginning with the family, the fundamental cell and most precious element of any society.  The family, united, fruitful and indissoluble, possesses the elements fundamental for fostering hope in the future.  Without this solid basis, the future ends up being built on sand, with dire social consequences.  Then too, stressing the importance of the family not only helps to give direction and hope to new generations, but also to many of our elderly, who are often forced to live alone and are effectively abandoned because there is no longer the warmth of a family hearth able to accompany and support them.

CORPORATE BLUESHIRT FASCISM IRELAND Right2Water

The Nazi's first concentration camp was filled with social democrats, socialists, trade unionists while smashing democratic discourse among the people. It is also true that Fascism, in all its forms, attacks science and intellectual life, espousing ignorance and superstition, to obfuscate its political reactionary nature. Fascist Censorship in all it's guises, still governs the superficial public, discourse, of the Irish people of no property, to the point that it is accepted as the norm, even among their own.

The early twentieth century Italians, invented the word fascism. They also had a more descriptive term for the it ;estato corporativo or the corporatist state. As a result of its history in Germany and Spain, we have come to equate fascism with its symptoms, not with it's structure. The structure of fascism is corporatism, or the corporate state. The structure of fascism is the union, marriage, merger or fusion of corporate economic power with governmental power. Failing to understand fascism properly, as the consolidation of corporate economic and governmental power in the hands of a few, is to completely misunderstand what fascism is. The consolidation of this power, produces the demagogues and regimes we understand to be fascist.

The suppression and corruption of genuine organized Labour, is critical for corporations, who are the most important check on corporate power, other than authentic government, with a legal system, that prioritizes a nation's citizens, ahead of corporate lobbyists. This is not the case in any part of Ireland.
In both Orange and Green states In Ireland, the supremacy of the military state, is underpinned with extra judicial powers, military style courts, without juries are necessary, not to protect people but to protect corporate profits, with threats from abroad.

Cronyism and governmental corruption is the norm in Ireland, with ex-corporate employees running state agencies and creating legislation that are the norm in Ireland, which replace legislation, that is supposed to regulate or check corporate power. Controlling the media for Corporate propaganda, is also standard in both parts of Ireland. All of these characteristics have an obvious corporate component and produce obvious corporate benefit, which is on full display in Ireland currently, in the water protests.

People in Ireland, are starting to resist the Blueshirt State of Fine Gael, with their peaceful protests of waving signs and chanting slogans, but the overreaction of the Blueshirt state, to the oppressed plain people of Ireland, is leading to even more resistance. Eventually Irish commerce will shut down from the extreme Blueshirt measures. The money still being blown by Leinster House, will speed the bankruptcy of Ireland again. Older Irish people may disagree but the young people of Ireland, will have to live through the consequence of this horror for generations to come, if the Blueshirts remain in power, creating further revolt and suffering, as they did previously in Ireland's horrific history.

Fascism Anyone?

Fascism’s principles are alive in all parts of Ireland today, masquerading as something else, preventing real democracy and the self determination of Ireland's communities. The article below by Laurence W. Britt, is placed in a an Irish context Ireland continues to fail to learn from history, or draws the wrong conclusions. Sadly, historical amnesia is the norm in Ireland and elsewhere.

We are three generations removed from the horrors of Nazi Germany, although constant reminders jog the consciousness. German and Italian fascism form the historical models that define this twisted political worldview. Although they no longer exist, this worldview and the characteristics of these models have been imitated by protofascist1 regimes at various times in the twentieth century. Both the original German and Italian models and the later protofascist regimes show remarkably similar characteristics. Although many scholars question any direct connection among these regimes, few can dispute their visual similarities.

Beyond the visual, even a cursory study of these fascist and protofascist regimes reveals the absolutely striking convergence of their modus operandi. This, of course, is not a revelation to the informed political observer, but it is sometimes useful in the interests of perspective to restate obvious facts and in so doing shed needed light on current circumstances.

For the purpose of an Irish perspective, we will consider the following regimes: Fine Gael (Blueshirts) Ireland, Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Franco’s Spain, Salazar’s Portugal, Papadopoulos’s Greece, Pinochet’s Chile, and Suharto’s Indonesia. To be sure, they constitute a mixed bag of national identities, cultures, developmental levels, and history. But they all followed the fascist or protofascist model in obtaining, expanding, and maintaining power. Further, all these regimes have been overthrown, so a more or less complete picture of their basic characteristics and abuses is possible.

Analysis of these seven regimes reveals fourteen common threads that link them in recognizable patterns of national behavior and abuse of power. These basic characteristics are more prevalent and intense in some regimes than in others, but they all share at least some level of similarity.

1.
Merger of Corporate Power and State Power. Although the personal life of ordinary citizens was under strict control, the ability of large corporations to operate in relative freedom was not compromised. The ruling elite saw the corporate structure as a way to not only ensure military production (in developed states), but also as an additional means of social control. Members of the economic elite were often pampered by the political elite to ensure a continued mutuality of interests, especially in the repression of “have-not” citizens.

2. Disdain for the importance of human rights. The regimes themselves viewed human rights as of little value and a hindrance to realizing the objectives of the ruling elite. Through clever use of propaganda, the population was brought to accept these human rights abuses by marginalizing, even demonizing, those being targeted. When abuse was egregious, the tactic was to use secrecy, denial, and disinformation.

3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause. The most significant common thread among these regimes was the use of scapegoating as a means to divert the people’s attention from other problems, to shift blame for failures, and to channel frustration in controlled directions. The methods of choice—relentless propaganda and disinformation—were usually effective. Often the regimes would incite “spontaneous” acts against the target scapegoats, usually communists, socialists, liberals, Jews, ethnic and racial minorities, traditional national enemies, members of other religions, secularists, homosexuals, and“terrorists.” Active opponents of these regimes were inevitably labeled as terrorists and dealt with accordingly.

4. The supremacy of the military/avid militarism. Ruling elites always identified closely with the military and the industrial infrastructure that supported it. A disproportionate share of national resources was allocated to the military, even when domestic needs were acute. The military was seen as an expression of nationalism, and was used whenever possible to assert national goals, intimidate other nations, and increase the power and prestige of the ruling elite.

5. Rampant sexism. Beyond the simple fact that the political elite and the national culture were male-dominated, these regimes inevitably viewed women as second-class citizens. They were adamantly anti-abortion and also homophobic. These attitudes were usually codified in Draconian laws that enjoyed strong support by the orthodox religion of the country, thus lending the regime cover for its abuses.

6. A controlled mass media. Under some of the regimes, the mass media were under strict direct control and could be relied upon never to stray from the party line. Other regimes exercised more subtle power to ensure media orthodoxy. Methods included the control of licensing and access to resources, economic pressure, appeals to patriotism, and implied threats. The leaders of the mass media were often politically compatible with the power elite. The result was usually success in keeping the general public unaware of the regimes’ excesses.

7. Obsession with national security. Inevitably, a national security apparatus was under direct control of the ruling elite. It was usually an instrument of oppression, operating in secret and beyond any constraints. Its actions were justified under the rubric of protecting “national security,” and questioning its activities was portrayed as unpatriotic or even treasonous.

8. Religion and ruling elite tied together. Unlike communist regimes, the fascist and protofascist regimes were never proclaimed as godless by their opponents. In fact, most of the regimes attached themselves to the predominant religion of the country and chose to portray themselves as militant defenders of that religion. The fact that the ruling elite’s behavior was incompatible with the precepts of the religion was generally swept under the rug. Propaganda kept up the illusion that the ruling elites were defenders of the faith and opponents of the “godless.” A perception was manufactured that opposing the power elite was tantamount to an attack on religion.

9.
Powerful and continuing expressions of Nationalism as opposed to Self Determination of the island of Ireland. From the prominent displays of flags and bunting to the ubiquitous lapel pins, the fervor to show patriotic nationalism, both on the part of the regime itself and of citizens caught up in its frenzy, was always obvious. Catchy slogans, pride in the military, and demands for unity were common themes in expressing this nationalism. It was usually coupled with a suspicion of things foreign that often bordered on xenophobia.

10. Power of labour suppressed or eliminated. Since organized labor was seen as the one power center that could challenge the political hegemony of the ruling elite and its corporate allies, it was inevitably crushed or made powerless. The poor formed an underclass, viewed with suspicion or outright contempt. Under some regimes, being poor was considered akin to a vice.

11. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts. Intellectuals and the inherent freedom of ideas and expression associated with them were anathema to these regimes. Intellectual and academic freedom were considered subversive to national security and the patriotic ideal. Universities were tightly controlled; politically unreliable faculty harassed or eliminated. Unorthodox ideas or expressions of dissent were strongly attacked, silenced, or crushed. To these regimes, art and literature should serve the national interest or they had no right to exist.

12. Obsession with crime and punishment. Most of these regimes maintained Draconian systems of criminal justice with huge prison populations. The police were often glorified and had almost unchecked power, leading to rampant abuse. “Normal” and political crime were often merged into trumped-up criminal charges and sometimes used against political opponents of the regime. Fear, and hatred, of criminals or “traitors” was often promoted among the population as an excuse for more police power.

13. Rampant cronyism and corruption. Those in business circles and close to the power elite often used their position to enrich themselves. This corruption worked both ways; the power elite would receive financial gifts and property from the economic elite, who in turn would gain the benefit of government favoritism. Members of the power elite were in a position to obtain vast wealth from other sources as well: for example, by stealing national resources. With the national security apparatus under control and the media muzzled, this corruption was largely unconstrained and not well understood by the general population.

14. Fraudulent elections. Elections in the form of plebiscites or public opinion polls were usually bogus. When actual elections with candidates were held, they would usually be perverted by the power elite to get the desired result. Common methods included maintaining control of the election machinery, intimidating an disenfranchising opposition voters, destroying or disallowing legal votes, and, as a last resort, turning to a judiciary beholden to the power elite.

WE ARE UNITED IRELAND AGAINST FASCIST BLUESHIRTS

If history repeats itself and the unexpected always happens, how incapable must Man be of learning from experience.Success does not consist in never making mistakes but in never making the same one a second time, wrote George Bernard Shaw, 26 July 1856 to November 1950, who was an Irish playwright and a co-founder of the London School of Economics. Successful students of history, know the veracity of Shaw's statement, hopefully the Irish people and future leaders of Ireland, will bears this in mind over the immediate future. Below are two articles, which I believe are relevant, to what is currently happening in Ireland. Please pass it on for their attention.

In his book Surviving the Economic Collapse Fernando ‘Ferfal’ Aguirre says that because most people are used to peace and stability they often realize too late that they are in danger. Rather than taking up defensive positions when pushed or confronted by strangers people tend to default to traditional social guidelines so as not to appear inconsiderate or overly reactionary. “This is based on a natural tendency to please others,” says Aguirre.

But making this mistake could have serious adverse implications for you and your family, because acting just a split-second late could lead to serious injury or even death, an outcome Ferfal witnessed all too often during the disorderly collapse of Argentina in the early 2000′s.

“You have to re-program yourself to react violently when surprised or threatened in any way,” recommends Aguirre, who notes that it is necessary to modify your psychological and unconscious social behavior in environments where the potential for violence is high. Rather than expecting non-confrontation, a prepared individual should expect exactly the opposite.

The following video, taken on the Atlantic City Boardwalk shows how very quickly a simple disagreement can turn violent.

An unknown individual is seen arguing with a street vendor and pushing his street booth against the man in what can only be described as an act of thuggery. The vendor is seen trying to back away from the man, but the thug would have none of it.

As the vendor backs up, the thug keeps moving towards him, cutting off any escape route. Words turn to fists and the thug lunges forward with a pretty powerful punch.

The vendor, having anticipated the violent action, immediately moves off of the assailants attack line and out-of-the-way.

After that it’s lights out.

As you watch the video pay close attention to the street vendor’s right hand. While he attempted all methods of avoiding confrontation – stepping backwards from the fight, walking away, and even putting his hands up in a universal non-confrontational manner – it is clear that he went into the situation with the assumption that this individual might take it further than just a screaming match. As such, he concealed what seems to be some sort of metallic weapon in his right hand.

After the thug lunges towards the vendor, the subsequent counter-attack is swift and devastating.

The thug literally never knew what hit him.

Blueshirts

From Wikipedia,

Eoin O'Duffy becomes leader

In January 1933, the Fianna Fáil government called a surprise election, which the government won comfortably. The election campaign saw a serious escalation of rioting between IRA and ACA supporters. In April 1933, the ACA began wearing the distinctive blue shirt uniform. Eoin O'Duffy was a guerrillaleader in the IRA during the Irish War of Independence, a National Army general during the Civil War, and the policecommissioner in the Irish Free State from 1922 to 1933. After de Valera's re-election in February 1933, Valera dismissed O'Duffy as commissioner, and in July of that year, O'Duffy was offered and accepted leadership of the ACA and renamed it the National Guard. He re-modelled the organisation, adopting elements of European fascism, such as the Roman straight-arm salute, uniforms and huge rallies. Membership of the new organisation became limited to people who were Irish or whose parents "profess the Christian faith". O'Duffy was an admirer ofBenito Mussolini, and the Blueshirts adopted corporatism as their chief political aim. According to the constitution he adopted, the organisation was to have the following objectives:[7]
  • To promote the reunification of Ireland.
  • To oppose Communism and alien control and influence in national affairs and to uphold Christian principles in every sphere of public activity.
  • To promote and maintain social order.
  • To make organised and disciplined voluntary public service a permanent and accepted feature of our political life and to lead the youth of Ireland in a movement of constructive national action.
  • To promote of co-ordinated national organisations of employers and employed, which with the aid of judicial tribunals, will effectively prevent strikes and lock-outs and harmoniously compose industrial influences.
  • To cooperate with the official agencies of the state for the solution of such pressing social problems as the provision of useful and economic public employment for those whom private enterprise cannot absorb.
  • To secure the creation of a representative national statutory organisation of farmers, with rights and status sufficient to secure the safeguarding of agricultural interests, in all revisions of agricultural and political policy.
  • To expose and prevent corruption and victimisation in national and local administration.
  • To awaken throughout the country a spirit of combination, discipline, zeal and patriotic realism which will put the state in a position to serve the people efficiently in the economic and social spheres.
Because of the later attraction of the group's leader Eoin O'Duffy to authoritarian nationalist movements on the European Continent, the Blueshirts are sometimes compared to the MVSN (Blackshirts) of Italy and to some extent performed a similar function.[8][9] Some of the Blueshirts later went to fight for Francisco Franco during the Spanish Civil War and wereanti-communist in nature, however historian R.M. Douglas has stated that it is dubious to portray them as an "Irish manifestation of fascism".

March on Dublin

The National Guard planned to hold a parade in Dublin in August 1933. It was to proceed to Glasnevin Cemetery, stopping briefly on Leinster lawn in front of the Irish parliament, where speeches were to be held. The goal of the parade was to commemorate past leaders of Ireland, Arthur GriffithMichael Collins and Kevin O'Higgins. It is clear that the IRA and other fringe groups representing various socialists intended to confront the Blueshirts if they did march in Dublin. The government banned the parade, remembering Mussolini's March on Rome, and fearing a coup d'état. Decades later, de Valera told Fianna Fáil politicians that in late summer 1933, he was unsure whether the Irish Army would obey his orders to suppress the perceived threat, or whether the soldiers would support the Blueshirts (who included many ex-soldiers). O'Duffy accepted the ban and insisted that he was committed to upholding the law. Instead, several provincial parades took place to commemorate the deaths of Griffith, O'Higgins and Collins. De Valera saw this move as defying his ban, and the Blueshirts were declared an illegal organisation.

Fine Gael and the National Corporate Party

In response to the banning of the National Guard, Cumann na nGaedheal and the National Centre Party merged to form a new party, Fine Gael, on 3 September 1933. O'Duffy became its first president, with W. T. Cosgrave and James Dillon acting as vice-presidents. The National Guard changed into the Young Ireland Association, and became part of a youth wing of the party. The party's aim was to create a corporatist United Ireland within the British Commonwealth. The 1934 local elections were a trial of strength for the new Fine Gael and the Fianna Fáil government. When Fine Gael won only 6 out of 23 local elections, O’Duffy lost much of his authority and prestige.[10] The Blueshirts began to disintegrate by mid-1934.[11] The Blueshirts floundered also on the plight of farmers during the Economic War, as the Blueshirts failed to provide a solution. Following disagreements with his Fine Gael colleagues, O'Duffy left the party, although most of the Blueshirts stayed in Fine Gael. In December 1934, O'Duffy attended the Montreux Fascist conference in Switzerland. He then founded the National Corporate Party, and later raised an"Irish Brigade" that took General Francisco Franco's side in theSpanish Civil War.[12]

TO Really See what is Actually Going on....AMD When was THIS Planned etc.. FEW Are Aware As To What is Really Behind These Atrociities

Bernard Clarke; Bush's family belonged to the Skull and Bones Freemasonry. My own experience and take on it, is that as people materially progress, so does their politics. The Federal reserve system we live in, is one glorified Ponzi scheme. WW 1 & 2, were really about protecting the monetary system and the vast wealth of the elite. The only way to repeat this again, in a nuclear world and have elitist self preservation, would be with something like manufactured Ebola. Money has no loyalty to nationality, religion or for that matter ethics. We know the Ponzi scheme is about to collapse, especially with the de-linkage of the world's reserve currency, the Petro dollar. Billionaires are aware of the choices. So what do you think? History does repeat itself, there is more than enough evidence of that!
