The Guineapigs were fourteen Irish political prisoners on whom the British Army experimented with sensory deprivation torture in 1971. It still continues 40 years later, on Marian Price who is experimented on, in a British military Hospital in Belfast today after her sister Dolours died as a result of drug experiments carried out on her while being forced fed 40 years ago. In Ireland in 1971, there was a deliberate and careful use of modern torture techniques, not just to get information but to perfect the SS UK system of Sensory Deprivation for use against civilians. An ex-internee John McGuffin spent two years researching a book he wrote, following his release from where he had been held without charge or trial. The book called 'The Guineapigs"  was dedicated to the blanket men in Long Kesh concentration camp and the women political prisoners in Armagh jail. 'Na reabhloidi Abu.'

It may be a revelation to many people that the global drug trade is controlled and run by the intelligence agencies. In this global drug trade British intelligence reigns supreme. As intelligence insiders know MI5 and MI6 control many of the other intelligence agencies in the world (CIA, MOSSAD etc) in a vast web of intrigue and  corruption that has its global power base in the city of London, the square mile.  My name is James Casbolt, and I worked for MI6 in ‘black ops’ cocaine trafficking with the IRA and MOSSAD in London and Brighton between 1995 and 1999. My father Peter Casbolt was also MI6 and worked with the CIA and mafia in Rome, trafficking cocaine into Britain. My experience was that the distinctions of all these groups became blurred until in the end we were all one international group working together for the same goals. We were puppets who had our strings pulled by global puppet masters based in the city of London. Most levels of the intelligence agencies are not loyal to the people of the country they are based in and see themselves as ‘super national’.

It had been proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the CIA has been bringing in most of the drugs into America for the last fifty years (see ex LAPD officer Michael Rupert’s ‘From the wilderness’ website for proof). The CIA operates under orders from British intelligence and was created by British intelligence in 1947. The CIA today is still loyal to the international bankers based in the city of London and the global elite aristocratic families like the Rothschild’s and the Windsor’s. MI6 bring in heroin from the middle east, cocaine from south America and cannabis from morocco as well as other places. British intelligence also designed and created the drug LSD in the 1950′s through places like the Tavistock Institute in London. By the 1960′s MI5, MI6 and the CIA were using LSD as a weapon against the angry protestors of the sixties and turned them into ‘flower children’ who were too tripped out to organise a revolution.

Dr Timothy Leary the LSD guru of the sixties was a CIA puppet. Funds and drugs for Leary’s research came from the CIA and Leary says that Cord Meyer, the CIA agent in charge of funding the sixties LSD counter culture has ”helped me to understand my political cultural role more clearly”. In 1998, I was sent 3000 LSD doses on blotting paper by MI5 with pictures of the European union flag on them. The MI5 man who sent them told my father this was a government ‘signature’ and this LSD was called ‘Europa’.

This global drugs trade controlled by British intelligence is worth at least 500 billion a year. This is more than the global oil trade and the economy in Britain and America is totally dependent on this drug money. Mafia crime boss John Gotti exposed the situation when asked in court if he was involved in drug trafficking. He replied “No we can’t compete with the government”. I believe this was only a half truth because the mafia and the CIA are the same group at the upper levels. In Britain, the MI6 drug money is laundered through the Bank of England, Barclays Bank and other household name companies. The drug money is passed from account to account until its origins are lost in a huge web of transactions. The drug money comes out ‘cleaner’ but not totally clean. Diamonds are then bought with this money from the corrupt diamond business families like the Oppenheimers. These diamonds are then sold and the drug money is clean. MI6 and the CIA are also responsible for the crack cocaine epidemic in Britain and America.  In 1978, MI6 and the CIA were in south America researching the effects of the natives smoking ‘basuco’ cocaine paste. This has the same effect as crack cocaine. They saw that the strength and addiction potential was far greater than ordinary cocaine and created crack cocaine from the basuco formula. MI6 and the CIA then flooded Britain and America with crack [see Gary Webb--ed]. Two years later, in 1980, Britain and America were starting to see the first signs of the crack cocaine epidemic on the streets. On august 23, 1987, in a rural community south of Little Rock in America, two teenage boys named Kevin Ives and Don Henry were murdered and dismembered after witnessing a CIA cocaine drop that was part of a CIA drug trafficking operation based at a small airport in Mena, Arkansas. Bill Clinton was the governor of Arkansas at the time. Bill Clinton was involved with the CIA at this time and $100 million worth of cocaine was coming through the Mena, Arkansas airport each month. For proofsee the books ‘Compromise’ and ‘Dope Inc’.

On my father’s international MI6 drug runs, whatever fell off the back of the lorry so to speak he would keep and we would sell it in Britain. As long as my father was meeting the speedboats from Morocco in the Costa del Sol and then moving the lorry loads of cannabis through their MI6, IRA lorry business into Britain every month, British intelligence were happy. As long as my father was moving shipments of cocaine out of Rome every month, MI5 and MI6 were happy. If my father kept a bit to sell himself no one cared because there was enough drugs and money to go round in this £500 billion a year global drugs trade. The ones who were really paying were the people addicted. Who were paying with suffering. But karma always catches up and both myself and my father became addicted to heroin in later years and my father died addicted, and poor in prison under very strange circumstances. Today, I am clean and drug-free and wish to help stop the untold suffering this global drugs trade causes. The intelligence agencies have always used addictive drugs as a weapon against the masses to bring in their long term plan for a one world government, a one world police force designed to be NATO and a micro chipped population known as the New World Order. As the population is in a drug or alcohol-induced trance watching ‘Coronation Street’, the new world order is being crept in behind them.

To properly expose this global intelligence run drugs trade we need to expose the key players in this area:

1- Tibor Rosenbaum, a MOSSAD agent and head of the Geneva based Banque du Credit international. This bank was the forerunner to the notorious Bank of Credit and Commerce international (BCCI) which is a major intelligence drug money laundering bank. ‘Life’ magazine exposed Rosenbaum’s bank as a money launderer for the Meyer Lanksky American organised crime family and Tibor Rosenbaum funded and supported ‘Permindex’ the MI6 assassination unit which
was at the heart of the John F. Kennedy assassination.

2- Robert Vesco, sponsored by the Swiss branch of the Rothchilds and part of the American connection to the Medellin drug cartel in Columbia.

3- Sir Francis de Guingand, former head of British intelligence, now living in south Africa (and every head of MI5 and MI6 has been involved in the drug world before and after him).

4- Henry Keswick, chairman of Jardine Matheson which is one of the biggest drug trafficking operations in the world. His brother John Keswick is chairman of the bank of England.

5- Sir Martin Wakefield Jacomb, Bank of England director from 1987 to 1995, Barclays Bank Deputy Chairman in 1985, Telegraph newspapers director in 1986 ( This is the reason why this can of worms doesn’t get out in the mainstream media. The people who are perpetrating these crimes control most of the mainstream media. In America former director of the CIA William Casey was, before his death in 1987, head of the council of the media network ABC. Many insiders refer to ABC as ‘The CIA network.)

6- George Bush, Snr, former President and former head of the CIA and America’s leading drug baron who has fronted more wars on drugs than any other president. Which in reality is just a method to eliminate competition. A whole book could be written on George Bush’s involvement in the global drug trade but it is well-covered in the book ‘Dark Alliance’ by investigative journalist Gary Webb.

Gary Webb was found dead with two gunshot wounds to the back of his head with a revolver. The case was declared a ‘suicide’. You figure that out. Gary Webb as well as myself and other investigators, found that much of this ‘black ops’ drug money is being used to fund projects classified ab ove top secret. These projects include the building and maintaining of deep level underground bases in Dulce in New Mexico, Pine gap in Australia, Snowy mountains in Australia, The Nyala range in Africa, west of Kindu in Africa, next to the Libyan border in Egypt, Mount Blanc in Switzerland, Narvik in Scandinavia, Gottland island in Sweden and many other places around the world (more about these underground bases in my next issue). How MI6, CIA Spend Your Tax Money on Propping Up Drug Production

By Annie MachonMay 06, 2013 "Information Clearing House" -"RT" - With both the CIA and MI6 secretly providing 'ghost money' bribes to the Afghan political establishment, it’s likely that Afghans will increasingly support a resurgent Taliban and the drug trade will be further propped up.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai, has recently been criticized for taking 'ghost money' from the CIA and MI6. The sums are unknown – for the usual reasons of 'national security' – but are estimated to have been in the tens of millions of dollars. While this is nowhere near the eye-bleeding $12 billion shipped over to Iraq on pallets in the wake of the invasion a decade ago, it is still a significant amount.

And how has this money been spent?  Certainly not on social projects or rebuilding initiatives.  Rather, the reporting indicates, the money has been funneled to Karzai's cronies as bribes in a corrupt attempt to buy influence in the country.

None of this surprises me. MI6 has a long and ignoble history of trying to buy influence in countries of interest.  In 1995/96 it funded a 'ragtag group of Islamic extremists,' headed up by a Libyan military intelligence officer, in an illegal attempt to try to assassinate Colonel Gaddafi.  The attack went wrong and innocent people were killed. When this scandal was exposed, it caused an outcry.

Yet a mere 15 years later, MI6 and the CIA were back in Libya, providing support to the same 'rebels,' who this time succeeded in capturing, torturing and killing Gaddafi, while plunging Libya into apparently endless internecine war. This time around there was little international outcry, as the world's media portrayed this aggressive interference in a sovereign state as 'humanitarian relief.'

And we also see the same in Syria now, as the CIA and MI6 are already providing training and communication support to the rebels – many of whom, particularly the Al Nusra faction in control of the oil-rich north-east of Syria are in fact allied with Al-Qaeda in Iraq.  So in some countries the UK and USA use drones to target and murder "militants" (plus villagers, wedding parties and other assorted innocents), while in others they back ideologically similar groups.

Recently, we have also seen the Western media making unverified claims that the Syrian regime is using chemical weapons against its own people, and our politicians leaping on these assertions as justification for openly providing weapons to the insurgents.

Other reports are now emerging that indicate it was the rebels themselves who have been using sarin gas against the people. This may halt the rush to war, but not doubt other support will continue to be offered by the West to these war criminals.

So, how is MI6 secretly spending UK taxpayers' money in Afghanistan? According to Western media reporting, it is being used to prop up warlords and corrupt officials. This is deeply unpopular amongst the Afghan people, leading to the danger of increasing support for a resurgent Taliban.

There is also a significant overlap between the corrupt political establishment and the illegal drug trade, up to and including the president's late brother, Ahmed Wali Karzai. So, another unintentional consequence may be that some of this unaccountable ghost money is propping up the drug trade.

Afghanistan is the world's leading producer of heroin, and the UN reports that poppy growth has increased dramatically. Indeed, the UN estimates that acreage under poppy growth in Afghanistan has tripled over the last 7 years.  The value of the drug trade to the Afghan warlords is now estimated to be in the region of $700 million per year.  You can buy a lot of Kalashnikovs with that.

On the one hand, we have Western governments bankrupting themselves to fight the 'war on terror,' breaking international laws and murdering millions of innocent people across North Africa, the Middle East and central Asia, while at the same time shredding what remains of our hard-won civil liberties at home.

On the other hand, we apparently have MI6 and the CIA secretly bankrolling the very people in Afghanistan who produce 90 percent of the world's heroin. And then, of course, more scarce resources can be spent on fighting the failed 'war on drugs,' and yet another pretext is used to shred our civil liberties.

This is a lucrative economic model for the burgeoning military-security complex. However, it is a lose-lose scenario for the rest of us.

SS UK STATE TERRORISM "WON'T LET IT HAPPEN" CAMERON

The British Prime minister Mr David Cameron in refusing a public inquiry regarding the British state murder  of lawyer Pat Finucane, citing costs as a reason but when he met the Finucane family at Downing Street in October 2011, he said that there “are people in buildings all around here (meaning 10 Downing Street) who won’t let it happen”. Which begs the question:who is actually running the country?

Lawyer Pat Finucane, like lawyer Rosemary Nelson was a “thorn in the flesh” of the British occupation in Ireland and were left vulnerable to loyalist murder?. MI5’s role was crucial, said BBC investigative reporter John Ware, in a rare piece of BBC honesty. Nuala O’Loan former police ombudsperson claims the new regulatory roles were still not strong enough in 2003.


The British state murders of Irish human rights lawyers and truth tellers such as the journalist Martin O'Hagan, were not isolated examples of British state terrorism in occupied Ireland. Investigation has shown, that this pattern of activity was systemic.The role of MI5 or any of SS UK's activity is not open to a public inquiry? They are beyond accountability. Which again begs the question:who is actually running the UK?



MI5 and SB wanted Lawyer Pat Finucane dead and the UDA was penetrated at its most senior level by three MI5 agents.According to Justice Cory, MI5 was warned three times that Mr Finucane was being targeted for assassination, the last being just seven weeks before he was shot in front of his family. MI5 did not inform Special Branch, though it is clear even had they done so, this Branch of SS UK would have done nothing about this, since they too had already heard from their own informants, that a hit  was imminent and did nothing to stop it, nor did they help another Branch of SS UK the CID, catch the state sponsored killers. Simply put, the police, military intelligence and MI5 wanted these Human rights lawyers dead.

The previous British Government could not agree with the Finucane family on arrangements for  an inquiry, but the Finucane family indicated, that they would support a public inquiry under the Inquiries Act 2005 as a way forward. Reviews thus far have had limited resources, and limited access to the Stevens files which are now under control of the Police Service of Northern Ireland, who are neither forthright or straightforward on the matter. MI5 have used delaying tactics such as requiring Sir Desmond to justify why he wanted to publish certain documents.He was able to question witnesses but had no power to conduct oral hearings and it all was conducted in secret behind closed doors.

 The British state murder of Pat Finucane, Rosemary Nelson, Martin O'Hagan are just a tiny pieces of the jigsaw of British war crimes, such as Bloody Sunday in British Occupied Ireland, along with the denial of civil rights, internment, torture, Ballymurphy, numerous other questionable murders and attempted murders. British cover ups and their refusal to allow the Irish any political power for decades, requires putting all these pieces together, which poses one key question. Do the British government now have any legitimacy what so ever in Ireland?

These above criteria are used by the British government, as a basis for their invasions and support for overthrowing regimes in North Africa and the Middle East currently. Measured by the same criteria the British government, has long lost any right to rule in British Occupied Ireland? Mumbled half apologies, without proper amends in the Commons, really does not cut the mustard anymore, particularly when no one ever seems to go to jail. Like their genocide of more than 6 million Irish, there is nothing, not even an apology never mind the considerable amends that the Nazis made for their holocaust dwarfed by the enormity of British war crimes and genocide committed in Ireland.

The British state which pretends to represent all of the people of the UK including British Occupied ireland while at the same time engaged in illegal activity of murder, terrorising the irish people, with a massive cover-up apparatus at the very highest level. They pervert their own so called  justice system and withhold justice from happening, A civilized state is supposed to have standards and a legal bases in law not in state terrorism or war crimes.

A European political observer who is a regular visitor, with intimate knowledge of both Ireland and Britain, made an astute observation on this matter. He said the lack of a public outcry in England about the British state being exposed, to systematically operating outside the rule of law, with regard to matters of state terrorism, cover ups and perverting the course of of justice is simply savage and that the British state murder of  the Irish,  not being traditionally a big issue for the English public, will eventually come home to roost some day and negatively affect themselves?

With Britain's MI5 murderers completely in charge of administering British Occupied Ireland, she said it does not require a great leap of the imagination from the Pat Finucane case, to other notable cases such as MI5's internment of the Price Sisters (or the Princess Diana case, for example?) to become a focus for more people connecting the dots. MI5 are the prime suspect culprits for stealing the Royal Prerogrative with regard to internment of Marian Price and perverting the course of justice by shredding the Royal document, prior to her kidnap and political internment, shrouded in secrecy.

MI5 and SS UK while being a puppet of the British state, used for many years, to terrorize the whole nationalist community,.in collusion with their state sponsored terrorists, is what they are principally about in Ireland. This is what the UK government is engaged in, using its proxies in a campaign of British state terrorism against the native Irish. The United Kingdom uses its secret services such as MI5, MI6 and Army Intelligence in an extra judicial capacity but it is also becoming clear, that in so doing over an extended period of time, large elements have gone rogue to the extent that more often than not its a case of the tail now wagging the bulldog, in a secret service culture, not only of impunity but complete impunity which cannot now be disappeared overnight. " Rogue Elements Within US Military: Defense Nominee Hagel Had Warned Obama

February 05, 2013 "Information Clearing House" - The Washington Post reports an interesting exchange that is said to have happened between the President in his first term, and Chuck Hagel, the nominee to be the next Secretary of Defense.

Bob Woodward writes in the Post that on a visit to the White House in 2009, Hagel warned Obama that he should look out for rogue elements within the Pentagon that were leading a ‘new world order’:

According to an account that Hagel later gave, and is reported here for the first time, he told Obama: “We are at a time where there is a new world order.

“We don’t control it. You must question everything, every assumption, everything they” — the military and diplomats — “tell you. Any assumption 10 years old is out of date. You need to question our role. You need to question the military. You need to question what are we using the military for.”

The Post states that Hagel warned Obama about becoming “bogged down” in the ongoing war in Afghanistan, saying it would define Obama’s first term. Hagel reportedly later privately questioned the wisdom of sending additional troops to join the conflict.

At the time, Obama had announced a proposed deployment of over 50,000 troops to Afghanistan, based on recommendations from the Pentagon.

In response, Hagel is said to have noted “The president has not had commander-in-chief control of the Pentagon since Bush senior was president.”

“If Hagel is confirmed, as appears likely, he and the president will have a large task in navigating this new world order.” The Post report concludes.

The assertion here seems less centered around the concept of ‘new world order’ and more towards the simple notion that the military industrial complex is driving perpetual war for its own ends; not really a major revelation in itself, and more an obvious statement.

Nevertheless, Hagel’s comments make for interesting reading.

However, there is no reason to believe that Obama, as president, would not already be aware of any form of ‘new world order’, be it rogue elements within the Pentagon or a vast elite shadow government structure, if Chuck Hagel, as a Senator, was aware of it.

This all begs the question, if Hagel knows the position of Secretary of Defense carries little meaningful influence over the military top brass, then will he attempt to do anything about it, or will he simply play along with the role?"

SS UK Still Murder Journalists & Human Rights Lawyers

Since the the signing of the Good Friday Agreement and the start 

of the Peace Process In Ireland. The British have blocked an

inquiry into the British Government's role in the murder of a Human

rights lawyer Pat Finucane.

The British Government has also been involved in the murder of

another Human Rights Lawyer, Rosemary Nelson who was bombed by

their agents, just a few months after the Agreement was signed.

Agents of the British Government have also since the Agreement 

murdered journalist Martin O'Hagan.

The British have further introduced secret political internment 

without trial of political activists. Continued with political 

policing,the torture of political prisoners, the censorship of 

independent Irish media and the continuance of a Police state run

by SS UK, still very agencies involved in these murders.

The National Union of Journalists has expressed grave disappointment at the announcement by the Director of Public Prosecutions in Northern Ireland that a decision has been taken not to prosecute in the Martin O'Hagan murder case. 

NUJ Irish Secretary Seamus Dooley said the union was disturbed by the announcement. The DPP was quoted as saying the decision was made after careful consideration of "available evidence". 

NUJ activist Martin O Hagan, a Sunday World journalist, was shot dead in Lurgan in 2001. 

Mr Dooley said: “This union does not accept that the State can walk away from this case. The murder of Martin O'Hagan was an outrageous act of violence which cannot go unpunished. 

"We will continue to campaign for a full investigation leading to the conviction of those responsible for the murder of our friend and colleague.  

"Martin's family, friends and colleagues remain determined to see justice done in this case".

Almost 12 years after journalist Martin O’hagan was murdered, the DPP now says it is unlikely that anyone will ever face justice

FAMILY, friends and former colleagues of the murdered Sunday World journalist Martin O’Hagan have expressed their anger after learning his alleged killers will not be brought to trial.

Sunday World editor Jim McDowell said he was “disappointed and angry” at the Public Prosecution Service’s decision to drop the murder case.

Yesterday’s decision comes after the PPS said evidence given by Neil Hyde, an assisting offender, could not be corroborated.

Eight people who were suspected of the murder will now not be prosecuted because of a lack of supporting evidence.

Four had been charged over their alleged involvement.

Hyde had been charged with the murder of father-of-three Mr O’Hagan (51), who was shot in September 2001. The killing was claimed by the Red Hand Defenders, a cover name used by the LVF and UDA.

After murder charges were dropped, Hyde signed a contract to assist police in their investigations. He was interviewed about his knowledge of the murder and Barra McGrory QC, said: “I know this decision will be disappointing to Mr O’Hagan’s widow, family, friends and colleagues but the evidence that can be given by an assisting offender must be carefully evaluated and the test for prosecution applied on a case-by-case basis.”

He referred to “the dangers of convicting on the uncorroborated evidence of an accomplice”.

Mr O'Hagan's brother Fintan said the family was bitterly disappointed.

“There is a witness who wants to tell a court who killed Martin O'Hagan, yet the PPS are depriving that witness the opportunity of telling the court his account and further depriving the court of the opportunity to consider the truthfulness or otherwise of that evidence and depriving the family, and indeed the public, of the opportunity to see justice in action.

“Justice need not just be done, it needs to be seen to be done,” he said.

Family lawyer Niall Murphy said they would be considering options which include making representations to Attorney General John Larkin QC over an inquest and potential civil litigation.

Mr McDowell ( left) is leading the campaign to bring the reporter’s killers to justice.

He said: “This decision comes back to the old adage that there may be law in this country, but whether there is justice — that’s another matter.”

In March 1999, just months after the signing of the Good Friday Agreement, human rights lawyer Rosemary Nelson was assassinated when a bomb exploded under her car. The attack was claimed by a loyalist paramilitary group but, over the last ten years, there have been several government inquiries into Nelson's murder. The latest one, which has been ongoing since 2005, has dramatically alleged that there may have been some security service collusion in the killing. Rosemary Nelson came to prominence for representing high-profile Republican and nationalist clients. It was no secret that her life was at risk and she had received many death threats - but had always been refused police protection. The report into the murder of Belfast solicitor Pat Finucane was publsihed today. The 38-year-old was shot at his north Belfast home by loyalist paramilitaries the Ulster Defence Association in 1989



David Cameron said the Government was ‘deeply sorry’ yesterday after a report into the murder of solicitor Pat Finucane found the security services colluded with the loyalist terrorists who killed him.


A review of the case by Sir Desmond de Silva, QC, found the father-of-three would probably not have been executed by the Ulster Defence Association without the encouragement of British agents.


Sir Desmond said state employees ‘furthered and facilitated’ the shooting of the 38-year-old, who was gunned down in front of his family in 1989.


But his finding that there was no evidence of an over-arching conspiracy involving ministers or security chiefs to target Mr Finucane sparked calls for a full public inquiry.


The widow of murdered Belfast solicitor Mr  Finucane slammed a report into his death as 'a sham... a whitewash... a confidence trick'.


Geraldine Finucane said Sir Desmond de Silva's report was 'not the truth' and renewed her call for a full public inquiry.


In a Commons statement today, David Cameron admitted Mr Finucane might still be alive had police and state agencies not colluded in his murder.


The Prime Minister said the 'appalling crime' was the result of 'shocking levels' of state collusion and apologised on 'behalf of the government and the whole country'.


The de Silva review into the 1989 killing found that state employees actively 'furthered and facilitated' the loyalist murder of Mr Finucane.


But the victim's family have criticised the review, insisting only a full public inquiry will reveal the truth about his murder.


The 38-year-old was shot in front of his wife and children at home by loyalist paramilitaries from the Ulster Defence Association in 1989.


At a press conference after the review was published, Mrs Finucane accused the British Government of suppressing the truth while attempting to blame dead individuals and disbanded organisations while exonerating ministers, serving officers and existing security agencies.


Mrs Finucane said: 'Yet another British government has engineered a suppression of the truth behind the murder of my husband, Pat Finucane.


'At every turn it is clear that this report has done exactly what was required - to give the benefit of the doubt to the state, its Cabinet and ministers, to the Army, to the intelligence services and to itself.


'At every turn, dead witnesses have been blamed and defunct agencies found wanting. Serving personnel and active state departments appear to have been excused.


'The dirt has been swept under the carpet without any serious attempt to lift the lid on what really happened to Pat and so many others.


'This report is a sham, this report is a whitewash, this report is a confidence trick dressed up as independent scrutiny and given invisible clothes of reliability. But most of all, most hurtful and insulting of all, this report is not the truth.'

Mr Cameron told the Commons said the review had found the Army and Special Branch had advance notice of a series of assassinations planned by the loyalist paramilitary group, the Ulster Defence Association (UDA), but nothing was done.

The review found a 'relentless' effort to stop justice being done with Army officials giving the Ministry of Defence highly misleading and inaccurate information, Mr Cameron said.


Successive UK Governments are accused of a 'wilful and abject failure' to properly control secret agents within paramilitary groups.


Mr Cameron said: 'It is really shocking this happened in our country. Collusion demonstrated beyond any doubt by Sir Desmond, which included the involvement of state agencies in murder, is totally unacceptable.


'We do not defend our security forces or the many who have served in them with great distinction by trying to claim otherwise. Collusion should never, ever happen. 


'On behalf of the Government and the whole country, let me say again to the Finucane family I am deeply sorry.'


The review found no evidence that any Government was informed in advance of Mr Finucane’s murder or knew about the subsequent cover-up.


Sir Menzies Campbell, former Lib Dem leader, said he had never heard a statement in the Commons which filled him with more 'revulsion'.


However, today Mr Finucane's son John said he could not believe that there had been a public inquiry into newspapers hacking mobile phone messages but not into state involvement in the death of a British lawyer.


‘We're talking about the murder of a lawyer in the UK,’ he told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.





‘I rather flippantly announced last year that I thought it would have been easier if my father's phone had been hacked rather than being killed. That's not in any way to disrespect the victims of phone hacking.


‘But if we can have an inquiry into something as important as that, this case is the murder of a lawyer which the British government have admitted there was collusion, you don't then deal with that, such a fundamental attack on democracy, by holding a non-statutory review behind closed doors.’

Mr Cameron has apologised more than once for the collusion between police and the loyalists responsible for the murder.


But Mr Finucane added today: ‘An apology is not in the correct running order. You don't apologise for something but then not fully admit what it is you're apologising for. I think that's what the Prime Minister has done.’


The Finucane are unhappy that in 2001 the British government agreed during peace talks to meet honour for public inquiries into deaths. Of five recommended, four were held but in Mr Finucane's case it was rejected.


Mr Funucane said: 'The only case that's outstanding is the case of my father. This review, we feel, is the embodiment of a broken promise of the British Government. We do feel that if they are sincere in dealing with this issue then they need to grasp this issue and they need to deal with it in a credible fashion.'


The loyalist paramilitaries shot Mr Finucane 14 times as he sat eating a Sunday meal at home, wounding his wife in the process. The couple's three children witnessed the attack.


The former head of the Metropolitan Police in London, Sir John Stevens, has previously investigated collusion claims surrounding Mr Finucane's death.


Shortly after starting the new inquiry, the Stevens team charged former Royal Ulster Constabulary Special Branch agent and loyalist quartermaster William Stobie in connection with the killing.

Former Met Police Commissioner Sir John Stevens published the results of his four-year inquiry into Pat Finucane's murder in 2003. The report confirmed that rogue elements in the security forces were involved in a deadly plot with loyalist paramilitaries to carry out a series of sectarian murders in Northern Ireland



But in November 2001 the case collapsed and he was shot dead outside his home within weeks.


In September 2004 a loyalist accused of murdering the solicitor pleaded guilty to murdering him. Ken Barrett entered his plea at the beginning of his trial.

In 2004, retired Canadian judge Mr Justice Peter Cory, asked by the Government to investigate cases of suspected collusion, concluded that military and police intelligence knew of the Finucane murder plot and failed to intervene. He recommended a public inquiry.


That year, Barrett was sentenced to 22 years' imprisonment.


In 2004, then Northern Ireland Secretary Paul Murphy announced an inquiry under new legislation introduced in 2005.


The Finucane family opposed the Inquiries Act 2005, arguing it would allow government to interfere with the independence of a future inquiry because a government minister could rule whether the inquiry sat in public or private.


As a result, plans to establish an inquiry were halted by former Northern Ireland Secretary Peter Hain.


In October 2011, the Government ruled out a public inquiry into Mr Finucane's murder but put forward a proposal for a leading QC to review the case. That review is to be published today.
