CARE2 ENLIGHTEN IRISH HOLOCAUST CENSORED IGNORANCE

I have learned from experiemce, that when approaching the truth, ir is better to start with myself and my own experiences. I have described in previous articles, traumatic experience from home and my life, relevant to this subject. My parents passed on to me their experience, from Ireland's eternal war with itself and the British Government. It has left a bitter, painful, legacy, that I have tried to come to terms with, in a healthy progressive direction. As a result I believe that it is critical that Ireland has a proper, transparent forum of international standing, to come to terms with it's inherited history, going back to the Irish Holocaust, which was historically, Ireland's most traumatic event and has shaped our modern culture considerably, with all it's ills and graces.

The beat way I can try to explain some of this, is with my pet dog, called Tibet, who is of the Shih Tzu breed and was given to me, as a very young pup, as a present. Like the pet dog of my childhood, which was more of a fox than a dog and one of my joyful childhood memories. Spontanaeity and loyalty, being their most notable characteristic. Relying primarily, on their keen sense of smell and hearing, Tibet my present pet is more aware, earnest and loyal than most humans I have known in my lifetime. Teddy my childood pet, was by far my best firend. Tibet who was given to me as a pup too young to have learned much from it's mother, and has rarely been around other dogs, so it constantly amazes me just where he learned, so much of his behaviour and I can only conclude, it is in his DNA.

Even at very long distances, at the faintes sound of fireworks, Tibet will run for cover immediately and hide until it is long gone. I am convinced it is connected, with ancestral memories of gunfire, while he fears any expanse of water, to the point, that he has broken his dog leash on the beach, many times to get away from the sea. Like myself he is generally a happy dog but he also, still has his issues.

When I was young, my mother used to tell me stories, about wounded Irish rebels, that her father used to take across the Shannon river from north Tipperary by boat because, being on the run, they could not get medical help there. Some were gruesome tales, particulrly those shot in the stomach. Unlike these stories, the Irish Holocaust, has long been a taboo subject in Ireland along with it's civil war, where the Irish Government and the Roman Catholic clergy, co-operated in it's cover-up, which was part of the airbrushed, school curriculum, that was part of the great lie.

Despite the official denial, I frequently had very vivid nightmares, of horses and carts coming around the village and taking cartloads of dead bodies away. When I would awake from the nightmares, I would hear voices calling and see vivid shadows of people, darting around in the light of daybreak. Now if you talk like this in Ireland, they will put you away in some intitution or other and throw way the key, but we did talk about it among ourselves as children. Many years later it indeed was a revelation to learn, some of the real history of Ireland, which confirmed indetail, my vid dreams of the past.

The lingering pain and longing of these memories, would often hauntt me, in the wide open spaces of the west of Ireland, bereft of it's people, lost to Holocaust and subsequent ongoing emmigration. A lot of our music and  what is left of our culture refelects this. While the old Celtic Church stood with the people, unfortunately, like most of our Irish politicians, the Roman Catholic Church, took the Queen's shilling, to kee the people ignorant, as do our historians of academia, still do today. Indeed it has now permeated, to most of the leadership of resistance, who control the minds of the brave, with a combintio of censorship and a revisionist, non-factual, narrative, caredully controlled to enforce the old order and empower leverage, rather than the voiceless people, of no property.

The reason, all of this is important, is because later on in mu own life, I found myself, caught up in the many contradictory extremes of Irish life. After Bloody Sunday in Derry, where the British army massacred unarmed Civil Rights demonstrators, along with many more around the north, I had a gut reactionary, motivation, to involve myself, which is not a progressive basis, like the dialectic of materialism or the historical lessons of conflict, that would create progress. Having said that, too much analysis, can also be paralysis, so there is probably a balance there somewhere, which only an uncensored dialectic of everyone can deliver.

Either way, this issue needs to be resolved in an inteligent way, based on facts extablished by the International Criminal Court, from an international, independent, objectibe basis of justice, so we can all move on to a genuine reconciliation and  forgiveness, without exploitative, outside interference or indeed censorious, self serving, manipulate expoitation, which can only exist in such an environment.

History does repeat itself and until, the lessons are learned. We already have had 800 years of this particular, rithless brand in Ireland. All  people who care about Ireland and humanity are needed, to make this happen, not the same repetitive, control elites, replacing an old set of control eltes, with the tools of censorship and brute force, because frankly, the whole island is in a mess, with all the usual characteristics, of dying civilizations and pillaged indigenous peoples, such as rampant alcoholism, child abuse, domestic violence, drug abuse, abject poverty, physically, mentally and spiritually, to the point of self destruction and insanity.

The island is virtually bankrupt in all of these areas  In this environment of emotional incest and island censorship, currently in the grip of corrupt corporate politicians, media, policing, judiciary and material nihilism. It needs help from the free spirits who were forced to leave, along with enlightened, empowerment, from an international of communal solidarity. We simply can't accomplisih all of it on my own.

We need your help, to carry this message and build a new Ireland of tolerance and equality, on a foundation of truth, justice and forgiveness. We need your, to recruit your friends, to sign the petition below and beat the widespread censorship of the facts of genocide, Holocaust all detailed in the links and videos, below. I offer a sincere thank you, to those who already signed yesterday and I ask you to carry on this good work and try to organize people in this Cause. It is the Cause of the people of no property, who survived, crimes against humanity, it is also the Cause of Ireland. TheTruth can set us Free in an non violent way and we all have a moral responsibilty to engage it, before we would consider engaging in violent conflict, that is destroying so many young llives So, please play your parrt, in whatever small or big way you can?

EVIDENCE LINK : http://www.irishholocaust.org/

Irish Blog requests the International Criminal Court, to immediately initiate an investigation into the Irish Holocaust and the British genocide of six milliom people in Ireland. We believe the the ICC Prosecutor has a reasonable basis to believe, that a crime against humanity, within Irelamd and the Court's juristiction exists and that both war crimes and a genocide has been committed against Irish people. We believe that an investigation, would be consistent, with the principles of International justice. We furnish the following preliminary evidence, as a basis for an immediate investigation.

Irish Blog seeks the support, of all Irish people and political parties, to empower the prosecution of this investigation. We urge all Irish people and political parties, to examine carefully the following preliminary investigation in the link below and mentor the request, that both Irish and British Governments make available, all relevant material, within their juristictions, to help the International Criminal Court arrive at a fair, just, settlement with appropriate restitution to any victim or their next of kin, primarily to prevent a re-occurrence of these crimes against humanity and that all parties recognize, the gravity and consequence of genocide and holocaust. Irish Blog also requests, a ceasefire, by all military and paramilitary forces in Ireland, until this matter, is thoroughly investigated and adjudicated,

For my mother's parents. For my brothers and sister in Ireland. For all those brave and courageous men, women and children, who stood their ground. Defended their homes and said proudly who they were, and that their lives mattered. While I cannot be there to stand by your side on this. Know that my soul is there with you. The waters are no barrier between us. For I am there. I am proud and honored to stand by your side. May the wind be always at your back. Godspeed.

It's ABOUT Time! The TERRIBLE and Fully Preventable GENOCIDE against the IRISH people by the British should be fully accounted for and the perpetrators brought to justice! The Irish Holocaust is still deeply entrenched in the minds and hearts of those of Irish ancestry; especially those that reside in the United States where many of our Irish ancestors arrived in Slave boats starving and impoverished. We Will Never Forget!

SECRET IRISH PIECE PROCESS OR FEDERALISM ?

The only successful template for a Peace Process, that exists in the world, is the South African model. It was built on a core of truth and reconciliation. There have been some positives thus far in the Irish version but serious researchers, along with informed people on the ground, are aware that the Irish Piece Process is going nowhere fast.

There are currently acrimonious negotiations taking place in Ireland on this matter. The principal players of both orange & green traditions, along with the Irish and British Governments, will never allow a genuine Truth & Reconciliation forum that is transparent, to happen, because it would seriously undermine the legitimacy of both Governments.

For these reasons principally, the only serious alternative for those pro-active parties in Ireland, genuinely desiring to be in the solution, rather than the problem, only a totally transparent Federal solution for the island of Ireland, devoid of sick secret manipulation, is the next obvious, progressive, step forward rather than fall back into the abyss of violence.

Franck, Pauwels, called Paolo Fiammingo, 1540-1596.-"Love in the Golden Age", c.1585/89.-Oil on canvas, 160 x 260cm. From a series of four paintings "Amori nell'Eta d'Oro"

So business was a little slow in downtown Nazareth one day. JC and his friends were sitting around wondering what to do. "Flip me, I could murder something sweet to eat, y'know?", said Peter. "If only there was a cake shop nearby, I could go and buy what I like."

"I'm going to open a cake shop!" he declared.
And so, "Heavenly Buns" was born.
One day, a young guy came in and requested a special cake be made. He wanted it in the shape of a skateboard with the words, "Support A Skate Park for Nazareth" iced on the top.
Thomas was working the counter that day and Thomas wasn't sure. Thomas was never sure about anything. He called to JC to come and speak with the young guy.
JC came out from the kitchen in his apron with the legend "Made In Heaven" on it. He took it off and handed it to Mary, who was arguing with her sister Martha about "doing all the work round here".
JC said, "A skate park, hmm? What's the intention behind it young man?"
The young guy said, "Well, it's a space for us to go and skate and have fun and do something creative with our time and we'll be getting exercise, too, and not getting into anti-social trouble."
JC stroked his beard for a moment as he stared off into the middle distance. "Yes!" he declared, "Let them have this cake! It promotes the three cardinal virtues, love, respect and tolerance.
"It's not my cup of tea, but I can see that the intention behind it comes from love, and love is what it's all about, eh?"
The next day, a young woman came in and requested a special cake to be made. She wanted it shaped like a cake with a photo on top of her with a man dressed in a Ku Klux Klan outfit.
Thomas was on the counter. He wasn't sure. He called JC, who came out and handed his apron to Mary. She didn't argue with her sister because this was Mary Magdalene, a different Mary altogether.
JC said to the young woman, "The KKK? What's the intention?"
The young woman said, "Och, it's just a bit of fun really. Just a wee laugh. And we sort of believe that we're better than other people, but I didn't realise it would get all this attention."
JC frowned. He didn't look off into the middle distance and his beard remained unstroked. He turned his loving gaze to the young woman and said, "We will not make this cake.
"The intention behind it does not come from love, respect and tolerance. We are purveyors of creations of love here.
"Please, taste our cakes and you'll see, we are all the same."
The next day, well, you've probably guessed by now, a young man entered requesting a cake saying, "Support Gay Marriage".
Thomas had picked up a fair bit from watching his boss by now. "Certainly," he said.
"And what colour would you like the icing?"

John Lewis just a Christmas dream

Have you seen the new Christmas ad for John Lewis?
The wee lad and his penguin and the soundtrack saying it's all about love and then it's not a real penguin, it's his toy and all he wants for it is to get it a penguin girlfriend/boyfriend for Christmas. Awww.
Whereas, the Northern Ireland version of the John Lewis ad would be footage of a wee Jeffrey Donaldson dreaming of a big John Lewis shop in Lisburn and all the Belfast politicians dreaming of it in Belfast and all waking up on Christmas morning and nothing has changed.
Still no John Lewis anywhere.
Awww.

Thanks for the recipe tip, Gregory

Whatever you think of Gregory Campbell's "Curry my yoghurt" zinger up at Stormont, his remarks did have one inadvertent positive effect.
I had made some curry and it was extremely hot, due to my thinking cayenne was less burny than paprika and putting in loads. So imagine my delight when I heard his dulcet, tolerant, educated, positive, uplifting, life-affirming tones mentioning yoghurt. Of course! A big pot of the natural variety into the saucepan and my dinner was cooled and edible.
So, "Go raibh maith agat", Gregory, for helping me find a use for your extremism.

History of Banned, Racist and Censored Cartoons

Between 1930 and 1950, animators at Warner Brothers, Walt Disney, MGM, Merrie Melodies, Looney Tunes, R.K.O., and many other independent studios, produced thousands of cartoons containing racial stereotypes and references to alcohol, adultery, female anatomy, cross-dressing, gambling, marijuana, pornography, sexual situations, smoking, and suicides (i.e. a frustrated Bugs Bunny blows himself up).
This period is now known as the golden age of animation, and until the mid 1960s, cartoons were screened before all feature films. Later, these same cartoons would cycle endlessly for decades on broadcast TV or cable syndication. To modern audiences, many of these cartoons are quite shocking and graphically illustrate how pervasive and institutionalized racism was in our culture just a short time ago.
Ownership of Warner Bros. cartoons passed to United Artists in 1968 and they created a "Censored 11" list of cartoons they refused to air or make available for purchase on any media. Since then, because of objections by parents, sensitive sponsors, timid corporate policy, and changing cultural mores, many more classic cartoons were heavily edited or pulled from syndication. Many have already been lost forever.
Studios are so protective of their classic characters like Bugs Bunny that in 2000, when Spike Lee made Bamboozled (a film dealing extensively with black stereotypes in Hollywood), Warner Bros/United Artists denied his request to include images of Bugs in blackface from the classic wartime cartoon Any Bonds Today.  In 2001, the people at Cartoon Network announced a "June Bugs" marathon, where they promoted their intention to show every single Bugs Bunny short. Warner Bros/United Artists quickly stepped in and dictated to Cartoon Network which shorts could not be shown.
These cartoons, like the cliché goes, were a product of their times and represent a period of American history where views were very different than they are now. While they are certainly not suitable for viewing by children without adult supervision and guidance, they are important historical documents that should be available to all. They are necessary for the development of anyone's cultural and historical literacy.
It is also important to remember that they were intended to be funny, not hurtful. One does not have to look far to find many other examples of racial stereotyping in popular media in the first half of the 20th century. Radio shows, movies, and comic strips were filled with caricatures of Blacks, Native Americans, Hispanics, Asians, Jews, and many other ethnic groups. It is to our great credit that we have evolved as far as we have since then, but we should preserve our history and not try to rewrite it in some Orwellian attempt to excise those parts of it that we now find abhorrent.

Some examples of Banned, Racist and Censored cartoons:

Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs (1943)
A mammy tells her Honeychile the story of a very sexy So White and her Prince Chawmin, who has two dice for front teeth. The Prince courts So White, and they boogie by moonlight. The queen is upset, and calls Murder Incorporated to “black out So White”. They advertise that they rub out anyone for a dollar, midgets 50 cents, and “Japs” for free. The thugs kidnap So White, but drop her off unharmed, after being plastered with kisses. So White finds her way to a cave, encountering de Sebben Dwarfs. The dwarfs are all in the army now, and So White becomes the cook for the whole army camp. The queen disguises herself and gives So White a poisoned apple, then is dispatched by a shell fired by the dwarfs. Prince Chawmin’s kiss is unable to revive So White, but the “Dopey” dwarf succeeds. How? “Dat’s a military secret!"

Jungle Jitters (1938)
African savages with humongous lips sing and dance. A traveling salesman tries to peddle his wares to the natives, but soon finds himself in a cooking pot.

Jungle Jitters
Jungle Jitters (1938)

The Isle of Pingo Pongo (1938)
The islanders are primitive savages, but they know the words to “She’ll Be Comin’ ‘Round the Mountain” and “Sweet Georgia Brown”. They are all drawn with small craniums, big lips, and bones in their hair.

The Isle of Pingo Pongo
The Isle of Pingo Pongo(1938)
All This and Rabbit Stew  (1941)
A slow-talking black boy modeled on a "coon" stereotype made famous by Stepin Fetchit, tries to capture Bugs Bunny. Bugs outwits, tricks, and dances his way to safety time and again. Finally, the boy gains the upper hand, but Bugs distracts him by rolling some dice. Bugs cleans the boy out while playing craps; mimicking the boy’s clothes, posture, and speech patterns.

All This and Rabbit Stew

Private SNAFU
The Private SNAFU cartoons were a series of army training films produced during WW2 and used to warn soldiers against potential strategic or hygienic hazards. ("SNAFU" was military slang for "SITUATION NORMAL: ALL F***ED UP.") Produced by the Warner Brothers cartoon unit, these shorts were intended for viewing by the military only, so an unsuspecting animation fan will be taken aback to hear "hell" and "damn" frequently on the soundtrack, to say nothing of the references to female anatomy. Booby Traps(accent on booby) SpiesOperation Snafu, and Snafuperman also contain less-than-flattering interpretations of German and Japanese enemy agents.

Private Sanfu
 Private SNAFU
Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips (1944)
Bugs is trapped on a deserted island and has to grapple with a ridiculously stereotyped Japanese--short, buck teeth, big round glasses, slanty eyes and all. "Japs!" screeches Bugs. "Hundreds of them!" Bugs also went up against Hermann Goring in Herr Meets Hare (1945). Even earlier, Stalin, Hitler and Hirohito came in for some extreme stereotyping in 1941's The Ducktators.

MOTHER IRELAND CENSORED Self Determination NOT Nationalism

..another wee chat on facebook ..

Anne Devlin Society Belfast

Following on from the subject of the prohibiting of political messages, Sinn Fein had a lot to say on the subject of the 'One Ireland One Vote' message which appeared on the mountain in April. They joined the DUP in condemning such political messages and in demanding its removal.

IRA CENSORED THATCHER SPEECH

Revealed: The speech Thatcher dared not give after IRA Brighton bombing

BY ANDY MCSMITH – 03 OCTOBER 2014
The speech Margaret Thatcher was going to deliver 30 years ago this month could have gone down in history as the most provocative in her stormy career.

She was going to name the individuals who - she claimed - were out to destroy democracy because they were “too blind or too wicked” to understand the harm they were causing.

She was going to accuse the Labour leader Neil Kinnock of having ceded control of his party to the miners’ union President Arthur Scargill and accuse the future Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, of abetting lawbreakers.

But the speech, as drafted, was never delivered, because at 2.54 am on 12 October 1984 – less than 12 hours before she was due to speak – an IRA bomb ripped through the Grand Hotel, Brighton, where Thatcher and other leading Conservatives were staying.

Five people were killed and 31 injured. In the middle of the night, Thatcher coolly announced in Brighton police station that the final day of the conference would go ahead as planned, but her speech had to be rapidly rewritten, with the most provocative attacks on Labour and the unions removed.

A typed draft is among a huge collection of Thatcher’s private papers from 1984, published today by the Thatcher archive, which can be read online.

One of Margaret Thatcher’s most famous phrases was “the enemy within” applied to leaders of the 1984-85 miners’ strike, and to Labour councillors who were defying the recently passed Rates Act by refusing to implement the cuts needed to keep rate increases within the law.

The historian Chris Collins, from the Margaret Thatcher Foundation, believes that she borrowed the phrase from John Wesley’s Methodist Hymnal.

She used it at a closed meeting for Conservative MPs, but never uttered it in public – though it would have featured in her conference speech, a week after the Labour Party’s rowdy conference in Blackpool.

She planned to say: “Several months ago, I used the phrase 'the enemy within'…I was referring to those people in Britain who are the enemies of freedom and democracy itself. And in case anyone doubted me, they were there for all to see in Blackpool last week.

“Mr Kinnock, for all his words – and there is no shortage of those – has been hijacked, first by Mr Scargill, then by anti-democrats at his own party conference.”

The ‘anti-democrats’ in her sights included delegates who had voted to support councillors who were defying the law. She was going to condemn that as “a rallying call to anarchy, and ultimately to tyranny, by those too blind, or too wicked, to grasp that by that road, liberty will be suppressed.”

She proposed to name Jack Straw, then a shadow environment minister, as an alleged culprit, because he had told Labour’s local government conference that “the question is not the rule of law, but which law should rule”.

Her speech was hastily rewritten on the morning after the bombing, with all attacks on Labour removed except for a short extract condemning the policy of unilateral nuclear disarmament. No Labour politicians were mentioned by name.

Over the weekend, Mrs Thatcher dispatched dozens of letters to well-wishers. The people who must have least expected to hear from her were William and Carol Thorne, of Ruffles Hair Salon in Hove, East Sussex.

Mrs Thatcher liked to have her hair done several times a week. She wrote apologising for cancelling her appointment on the morning after the bombing. "I was very pleased with the way you did my hair, and the fact that it lasted so well through Friday was the real test," she assured them.

DYSFUCTIONAL ISLAND IRELAND CENSORED REPRESSED

I suppose some of you are tired of this story. I once sat at many international meetings for many years in the Jellinek Clinic in Amsterdam, listening to various speakers, from many different countries share and blame their respective dysfunctional families, for causing their various addictions. My Irish friend Jimmy from Limerick, who like myself is not the most patient of people eventually ran out  of tolerance and suddenly piped up! You bloody ppl think you have it bad, coming from dysfunctional homes, what about me, I come from a DYSFUNCTIONAL FUCKIN ISLAND CALLED IRELAND !

I stole the following, because I couldn't find the owner to ask him to borrow it ~

Ireland as a dysfunctional family in denial?

Interesting op-ed article in today's Irish Times, by Brendan Logue, former Central Bank Registrar of Credit Unions and head of the IDA Financial Services Division.

It makes some good points about the delusional nature of Irish society and its doctrinaire - and largely manufactured - sacred cultural references.

On the other hand, it seems to fall into the popular Irish comfort-blanket trap of partly blaming a sinister "Frankfurt regime" for the mess we are in,  which to me is rather like the imagined "prolifigate parents" blaming the moneylender for their own greed and stupidity.   The real blame lies closer to home, I think.

Oh... and the Central Bank.  That fine regime had no say in regulating our financial institutions and controlling bank lending during The Bubble, did it?...

Leadership needed to mend our sorry state of delusion
BRENDAN LOGUE

OPINION: IMAGINE YOU belong to a dysfunctional family. The parents are profligate, incompetent and reckless. They tend to be corrupt, lazy, dishonest and self-serving.
The children (other than certain favourites) feel oppressed and neglected. Many of the favourites exhibit ruthless self-interest and greed.

The parents are under pressure from the moneylenders to whom they have had to turn as a result of their profligacy. So dysfunctional is this family that they have had to be taken under the care of outside agencies, which are struggling to bring them under control.

Many of the children abuse alcohol, drugs, religion, or alternatively delude themselves about their true situation, in order to ease their pain.  Others flee the family home at the earliest opportunity, or resort to suicide. They abuse and exploit each other and are in a perpetual state of inter-sibling rivalry.
The concept of family wellbeing is almost unknown among them.
Such a family mirrors the national situation.

Self-delusion is a characteristic of Irish society. In the old days we were told things about ourselves that in retrospect seem laughable. We were morally superior to other races, O’Connell Street was the widest street in Europe, the Shannon was going to be drained, the country reunited and the Irish language restored.

Such was the pathetic nature of the society that it tended to grasp at any idea, no matter how absurd, seen as positive to our warped sense of nationhood.

Those who were literary figures and who attempted to hold up a mirror to the Irish to reflect the weirdness of the society were generally derided, abused, saw their work suppressed and were forced to flee the country in despair. Abroad they often achieved due recognition.

That is not to say that individual Irish people aren’t as capable, creative and energetic as other peoples. But the damaged and deluded culture of our society often drags them down. Despite this, some groups and individuals have managed to overturn the deadening effects of Irish consciousness, but they are the exceptions to the norm.

The negative effect on Irish society of the Catholic Church is deep-rooted. Its doctrines have tended to produce a populace that is superstitious, apathetic and fatalistic. The progressive exposure of some of Catholicism’s true characteristics has left many of its loyal adherents confused and disillusioned.

The main institutions of the State – government, church, banks, the judiciary, the professions etc – are regarded by many Irish people with loathing, but many are also envious of those who belong to these interest groups. Most people feel powerless to attack these groups, who seem exempted from any corrective process that could limit their ruthless pursuit of self-interest.

In a normal democratic society a dissatisfied populace will overthrow an abusive regime, given time. However, in Ireland this has not happened.

The Republic of Ireland has never been truly independent. This could be because the best and the brightest were and are the most likely to emigrate, leaving behind the more deferential, insecure and apathetic people. British rule was overthrown in this part of the country in 1922 only to be replaced by an equally abusive system controlled from Rome.

This itself is in the process of being gradually overturned, but is being replaced by a regime controlled from Frankfurt, whose intentions are, as yet, unclear. Unless something fundamental changes in the public psyche, Ireland seems doomed to endlessly repeat its history of failure and to be a society that is deferential and provincial in outlook.

One possible benefit of the present financial, economic and social crisis may be that the Irish may begin to awake from the dreamlike state of delusion into which they had long ago fallen. To emerge from this nightmare will require leadership. Straight talking such as has never been heard before in this country needs to be the hallmark of a future leadership. This will be a painful process but could provide healing.
This State must never again allow itself to be humiliated and disgraced in the eyes of the world. The Ireland that has up to now been regarded internationally only in a semi-serious way as a country, must be reformed.

No more corruption, no more incompetence, no more alcohol abuse, no more self-delusion, no more abusive religion, no more secrecy, no more deferential forelock-tugging.
Unfortunately, leadership is absent just now in a way never before experienced. Neither politics nor religion, neither law nor commerce are fit for this purpose as they themselves are central to the country’s problems and act in a self-protective way to preserve the status quo.

What is left to undertake this gargantuan task? Maybe the media is up to it – who knows?
It is nearly time Robert Emmet’s epitaph is written – but not just yet.
Not until this society is fully cleansed of the rot that pervades it.

Fact of the matter is, I saw it with my own eyes GM, Paddy and Mary COULD NOT GET ON THAT GREASY LADDER FAST ENOUGH. Right from the get go of 1991 onwards, I noticed personality changes all around me. If you weren't with the program then there was something wrong with you. MADDNESS became fashionable, along with that always latent DELUSIONAL IRISH SUPERIORITY, the ECONOMY BECAME SOCIETY and the IRISH ALL PERVADING DELUSION BECAME AN ART FORM.

The REAL problem now, GM, is IRISH "SOCIETY" has become so DESTROYED and DISFUNCTIONAL that there is generations that see EASY MONEY AS A RIGHT. IRISH "SOCIETY" much more so than WESTERN SOCIETY per se has begun a GIGANTIC SPIRAL DOWNWARDS. NO ONE, NO ONE, GM, IN AUTHORITY GIVES A TOSS. IRELAND IS TRIBAL AND ALWAYS WILL BE.

Yes D. I remember it myself. We just wanted to move and could not because we refused to get into a bidding war with stupid "investors". They delayed our move by about 10 years, and now we have to pay off the debts they racked up.

Welcome to Oirland.

Bottom line is GM, be thankful your property could be valued in the cents by now, and unemployment could be near, or over 20% and climbing sharply, (with all the added ramifications) without the Irish Safety Valve Phenomenon. ALTHOUGH THERE IS A LOT OF GENUINE GOOD PEOPLE IN IRELAND (I'M NOT RUNNING FOR OFFICE!) THERE IS ZERO POLITCAL MOVEMENT TO TACKLE THIS, AS NO ONE CAN BE BOTHERED TO CARE.

GM look at the reality, look at one of the basics: The expectation of buying a property even in Dublin, where there isn't the hint of a consistent effective public transport system, is, INSANE. The BUBBLE just added the comical touch...Yet no one wanted to see it.

See the backround: THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE DEBATE IN IRELAND, WAS STARTED BY MISCHIEVOUS POLITICAL AND MEDIA SPIN. PADDY AND MARY FELL FOR IT; AS THAT'S WHAT THEY DO. PADDY AND MARY JUST DON'T LIKE WORK. OF COURSE WORK TO THE IRISH IS JUST ANOTHER WORD FOR MANIPULATION OF REALITY.

See the consequences of STUPIDITY: To introduce the DOUBLE HEADED BEASTS, OF PROPERTY AND WATER CHARGES, when an economy is in deep recession/depression is INSANE. But look at the REALITY: OVER 60% already PAID THE PROPERTY CHARGE. There is much acceptance of punative water charges, when the same individuals forget they are already paying for it in their income tax. THERE IS NO UNDERSTANDING OF THE BASIC CONCEPT OF REFORM IN IRELAND, SO ANY MONEY WILL BE WASTED. IT'S AFRICA. 40% voted for FF, WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISBANDED...SOME (!) OF THE MOST OBVIOUS WHICH TELLS ANYONE WHO WANTS TO SEE, EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. It's not brain surgery right?

Look at some (!) of the manifestations of MADNESS: In a tiny economy with the population of an average urban conurbation, where television presenters and media types earn more than the President of the United States of America, is OBVIOUSLY INSANE.

To pretend that REALITY is in fact myth is TYPICAL.

To have NO POLITICAL or OPPOSITIONAL ENITY is DANGEROUS.

To live in a TAX HAVEN, with all EFFECTIVE POWER RETAINED by an ELITE, which sucks LIFE BLOOD OUT of a FATTENED DOSILE POPULATION, is THIRD WORLD and GUBU.

ETC...ETC...The conditioned and institutionalised INSANITY on this island STILL goes on UNABATED. BUT SURE THE MEJA SAYS IT'S GRAND, SO IT MUST BE SO. GREAT CRAIC.

GM the Internet is a fasinating tool, the Irish are way past their bedtime. They will never learn, but maybe these and like-minded observations will help some SANE individuals somewhere, to see SANITY. Message in a Bottle.

I'm not being big-headed, Dakota, but I think this is the only blog that is truly critical of our little republic.

Many others talk the talk, but then give their little Irelanderism away.

Many are avowedly atheists or agnostics (atheism for cowards) but still have all the conservative catholic attitudes (anti-choice and so on).

They still subscribe to the cultural nationalist and neo-Gaelicist, "ourselves alone" dogma of the state's founders and numerous "republican" manifestations down the generations - which have acted as a safety valve for the status quo, by ensuring any potential political discontent was lost up that blind alley.

The problem with this country is the very dogma on which it is founded.

"numerous "republican" manifestations down the generations - which have acted as a safety valve for the status quo." It was and IS a CUTE HOORS CHARTER. A COVERT-AGGRESSORS PARADISE.

GM. You are providing a valuable public service here. As far as the public might be interested... but they are the problem.

i love it - "atheism for cowards" I still can't believe that the class of '72 turned out to be such a bunch of Cathaholics at the end of the day. I had such great hopes for us. You know a couple of years ago when there were big floods around my home town in Co Galway I saw (on Australian TV) someone from that class of 72 being interviewed as he emerged from his flooded home. His 15 minutes of fame included this - " ah shure it was the will a god and shure thank god none of us were drowned". Still shaking my head in disbelief. The local developer who built these little ticky tacks down by the river bank had to have got the approval of the local county council who surely to fuck had access to flood records but shure wasn't it the will of god so who you gonna call??? I'd love to see the footage of the brown envelopes as they sped beneath the various counters prior to the finalisation of this particular gem in town planning. Arrah

That little gem above is a hilarious comment !!

Go and live in another country ( which you do already ,me thinks ) where you will see all countries have the same problems and in most cases a hell of a lot more problems ,or try and get a girlfriend ( unlikely).

And sad twats like you who hate the blog, but keep reading it, are even funnier.

Unlike you, I don't live in another country at present. But I suggest you keep your dumb patriotism where it is, rather than taking it back to Ireland where it can only do more damage.

I, by the way, have lived in three different countries and worked in four.

I have a wife, though it is none of your business - perhaps this is some insecurity on your part, or a projection of unfulfilled desires?

Gombeen Nation will continue to be a brave beacon of hope and dissent in our little land, and annoying gobshites like you - with your dewy eyed nostalgia fo the old country from abroad - makes it all worthwhile.

Pol Pot might have signed you up, back in the day.

GM. Who is this anony mouse oaf? He - for it is a he I imagine - has nothing to say in defence of his beloved country. Just mindless invective... If it is his country at all.

There is a bitterness there. A bitterness perhaps most associated with British citizens who pronounce their own nationality as "Brattish". Like Gerry and the Lifetakers for instance?

@DB. He could be from that part of the world originally, or even our beloved republic? All I know is that he does not live here and suffer what we suffer. It is obvious too that he is a delusional fool of low IQ.

I think one of his remarks gives the game away though... his main problem is too many lonely nights with Palm. Maybe a bit of Catholic guilt into the bargain over all those messy sheets?
